AEW Dynamite Results – May 20, 2020

Joseph Kingsley-Nyinah runs down the results from tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

This is the last Dynamite before Double or Nothing, who knows what we’re in store for!

We begin the show by discussing the match ups will will see this weekend.

Then we see a limo pull up to Daly’s Place. The Inner Circle exits, and Chris Jericho gives a warning to the Elite.

Jon Moxley defeated 10 via Pinfall (Paradigm Shift).

Moxley made quick work of Brodie Lee’s newly christened High Knight, with a DDT, a piledriver(!) and finally the Paradigm Shift. He then made an ultimatum – return his belt, or he’d break 10’s arm. Lee opted to leave, and Moxley’s a man of his word.

MJF defeated Marko Stunt via Submission (Salt of the Earth).

MJF commended Marko for his efforts, before punching Marko in the face with his ring. Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus ran in for the save.

Jake Roberts and Arn Anderson come down to the ring. Both call the situation surreal, both hype up their respective charges and the special guest enforcer Mike Tyson, and both say they’d be happy to go one more time – referees have to keep them apart.

We see Pac for the first time in a while, who assures us that Rey Fenix will deal with the “arrogant prick” Orange Cassidy.

Rey Fenix defeated Orange Cassidy via Pinfall (Ace Crusher).

Cassidy trying was not enough to see off one side of the Death Triangle after a distraction from Kip Sabian and a ladder and a low blow from Fenix. Jimmy Havoc, SCU, Colt Cabana and the Best Friends all run in for a post-match brawl.

Nyla Rose and Britt Baker defeated Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander via Pinfall (Beast Bomb)

Nyla sets up a table in the ring and goes to put Shida through it, but with help from her tag partner, Hikaru turns the… er, tables.

Moxley promises to drive Brodie Lee’s head into the mat with enough force to knock out a rhinoceros.

Shaun Spears challenges a retired Dustin Rhodes to a match at Double Or Nothing.

We get a video package hyping the rivalry driving the main event, and then we see Matt Hardy defeat Sammy Guevara by Pinfall (Twist of Fate). Before Hardy can get his revenge for Vanguard 1, we cut to the Inner Circle ready to torture Kenny Omega on the football field. Before they can get started, we see the return of the Young Bucks and Hangman Page, who force their adversaries to retreat. We close on an image of most of The Elite posing on the pitch, while Hangman walks away. Again.
