Boston to host SummerSlam in 2020

WWE announce SummerSlam 2020 will take place in Boston, Massachusetts.

Announced earlier today in the Boston Globe, WWE will be taking their annual party of the Summer to Boston next year.

They will be host to “SummerSlam Week”, which will include the tapings for SmackDown Live, NXT TakeOver, SummerSlam and Monday Night Raw.

One of the famous “Top Four” shows that WWE produces every year, Boston will play host not only to WWE’s four shows over that weekend, but will feature autograph signings, meet and greets, as well as community outreach programs that WWE prides themselves on providing.

Amy Latimer, president of TD Garden spoke on the announcement, saying:

“We have an incredible history with WWE and are honoured that they have once again selected TD Garden as the home of SummerSlam. We’ve dramatically enhanced the arena experience with the addition of The Hub on Causeway and recent arena expansion, and we are thrilled to showcase these tremendous upgrades with fans for one of WWE’s biggest marquee events.”

Boston last played host to SummerSlam back in 2006, when Edge defeated John Cena to retain his WWE Championship. The TD Garden hasn’t hosted a WWE Pay-Per-View since back in 2017, when Clash of Champions was headlined by AJ Styles vs. Jinder Mahal.

Additional details, including ticket availability and travel packages, will be announced in the near future by WWE.
