FINALS SET FOR G1 CLIMAX 29

SHINGO TAKAGI ANNOUNCES HE IS NOW A HEAVYWEIGHT

During a backstage interview following his last official B block match where he defeated Hirooki Goto, Shingo Takagi declared he is turning heavyweight.

Takagi, who finished this year’s G1 with 4-5 record, said;

“G1 was the best stage as I expected. I came to New Japan in search of such a stimulus. To climb up to the top, it is necessary to go heavyweight.”

TAMA TONGA TEASES NEW BULLET CLUB MEMBER

Bullet Club member Tama Tonga has teased a potential news Bullet Club member, by announcing he has recruited a “high-calibre athlete”.

The B.C has recently added Canadian junior heavyweight El Phantasmo to their ranks, who is currently one-half of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions with Taiji Ishimori.

BIG E TALKS TRUMP, WHY HE WOULD TURN DOWN AN INVITATION TO THE WHITE HOUSE

Big E spoke with Donagh Corby of The Irish Mirror to promote WWE SummerSlam and said he would not be interested in visiting The White House if The New Day were invited.

Big E said;

“We are not a big fan of what’s going on with this administration, and I can’t say it’s something I’d be excited to do. I have no desire to go to the White House currently. We have a lot of problems in our country… it’s a beautiful country and there is a lot to celebrate and applaud, just a lot of the rhetoric that comes out of The White House is something we’re obviously not supportive of.”

“I have no desire to go to The White House any time soon. … When there’s a man in The White House that we really respect, then I think there might be an opportunity to go. I don’t think there’s any invitation that’s going to be extended any time soon anyway, so I don’t think that’s really a concern.”

NXT SUPERSTAR UNDERGOES SURGERY

According to Squared Circle Sirens, NXT talent Kavita Devi has recently undergone surgery for a torn ACL.

Devi will be going under the knife on Thursday, August 15. There’s no word yet on how the injury occurred.

Devi made her debut participating in the inaugural Mae Young Classic, and was signed shortly after, becoming the first Indian female pro wrestler to sign with WWE. She also competed in the Women’s Battle Royal at WrestleMania 34.

MLW ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CRASH LUCHA LIBRE

During this week’s episode of MLW Fusion, it was announced that MLW is partnering with The Crash Lucha Libre.

The Crash is located in Tijuana, Mexico. Their relationship will also include a talent-exchange agreement and collaboration between the promotions.

This is the second international partnership that MLW has announced over the past month. In July, it was revealed that MLW is partnering with Pro Wrestling NOAH.

PETE DUNNE TO RETURN TO PROGRESS WRESTLING

Former WWE United Kingdom Champion and Former PROGRESS World Champion “The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne will return to his old stomping grounds for Chapter 95.

At “Still Chasing” inside Alexandra Palace, Pete Dunne will be in action on September 15th as confirmed on their Twitter account.

This would be the first time Dunne has wrestled for PROGRESS since December at Unboxing Live 3, where he and Tyler Bate had what many believed would be their final match in the company.
