JOHN NORD AVOIDS PRISON

In his latest court case, former WWE star John ‘The Berzerker’ Nord has avoided prison reports the Star Tribune. He was though sentenced to five year’s probation, under the condition that he stays in restrictive housing and does “no driving whatsoever”. This is in relation to yet another DUI for Nord. Nord has been arrested seven times for driving under the influence of pain killers. The Star Tribune did note that Nord suffers from ALS, and his painkiller use supposedly stems from injuries gained as a pro wrestler.

NXT CONFIRMS A HOST OF NAME CHANGES

Earlier today, NXT made some changes to its roster, confirming a number of rumoured name changes, see below for details:

  • Malcolm Bivens (Stokely Hathaway) becomes Courtenay Moore
  • Brennan Williams becomes Dio Maddin
  • Dan Matha becomes Dorian Mak
  • MJ Jenkins becomes Monique Jenkins
  • Nick Comoroto becomes Nick Ogarelli
  • Robert Strauss (Robbie E) becomes Robert Stone
  • Rachael Evers becomes Rachel Ellering
  • Scott Parker becomes Jeffrey Parker
  • Shane Matthews becomes Matther Menard-Lee

WILL OSPREAY GIVES UPDATE REGARDING G1 CLIMAX

After being removed from a G1 Climax match earlier this month, Will Ospreay has provided an update ahead of his group A match. While he was removed from a six-man tag match because of an undisclosed neck injury, it appears Ospreay is now ready to return to the ring. Writing on Twitter Ospreay posted:

“Death can kiss me all it wants, it never nails me. Translation: I got the green light. See you tomorrow Korakuen.”

OPENWEIGHT TITLE ON THE LINE AT MLW’S NEVER SAY NEVER

Earlier today it was announced that Savio Vega would be facing Alex Hammerstone for his National Championship. Hammerstone became the first National Champion by defeating Brian Pillman Jr. at June 1st’s Fury Road. This was the culmination of a four-man tournament, also involving Gringo Loco and Rich Swann.

PWG’S BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES UPDATE

On Tuesday PWG announced that Lucky Kid would be making his PWG debut in this year’s BOLA tournament. This now brings the total number of announced stars to twelve. The complete list of stars is detailed below. BOLA is set to take place on the 19th and 20th of September at the Globe Theatre in Los Angeles.
