JOHNNY IMPACT CONTRACT EXPIRES

Johnny Impact lost to Rich Swann in an X Division Title match last night at Slammiversary, and that could be the last time we see him in the promotion.

According to PWInsider, Impact’s contract with Impact Wrestling expired several weeks ago although he agreed to stay on through the pay-per-view in order to conclude his angle with Swann.

The two sides are currently in talks to keep hold of the former Impact World Champion.

BOUND FOR GLORY HEADS TO CHICAGO

More news from Slammiversary saw Impact announce that this years Bound For Glory event will be held in Chicago, Illinois on October 20th.

The venue wasn’t officially revealed, but Impact has a show listed on the event schedule for The Odeum in Villa Park, Illinois on that date.

Bound for Glory 2018 took place at the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, New York last October, and the last Chicago-based Bound For Glory was in 2008 at the Sears Centre Arena.

WHY TESSA BLANCHARD LOST TO SAMI CALLIHAN

Many expected Tessa Blanchard to bring home the feel-good victory last night against Sami Callihan, but were shocked when Callihan pulled out the win.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Radio the reason was to showcase Blanchard as Impact obviously sees her as a big star within the promotion. However the plan from the start was to have Callihan win the match.

Impact apparently wants to avoid the reaction Roman Reigns has received in the past, when he’s pushed to the point where fans have rejected him. So the thought was to have her lose the match but still being put over by having a very strong showing against Callihan.
