SANTANA AND ORTIZ TO LEAVE IMPACT

Last night saw Impact’s Slammiversary XVII pay per view, during the event Ethan Page and Josh Alexander managed to retain their Impact World Tag Team titles.

During the triple threat match, which also included the Rascalz, Santana seemed to suffer and injury and was helped to the back. This was apparently planned from the start according to the Wrestling Observer. F4WOnline has also reported that Slammiversary saw Santana and Ortiz’s last match with Impact.

It has been widely reported that the tag team have seen interest from both WWE and AEW. While AEW has stated that they’re done with their major recruitment drive, they did mention that there were a couple of names that they were still interested in. This combined with Matt and Nick Jackson’s promise to lead a resurgence in tag team wrestling would mean a good fit for the team. WWE are known to be hoovering up all they can at the moment, this combined with their willingness to throw money at stars means it’s anyones guess where the former LAX members will end up.

BECKY LYNCH LANDS ESPN THE MAGAZINE COVER

Becky Lynch has become the first WWE star to grace the cover of ESPN’s The Magazine.

The WWE RAW Women’s Champion is joined on the cover by Alison Brie, star of Netflix’s GLOW series.

Becky Lynch and Alison Brie to be featured on cover of ESPN The Magazine’s “Blockbuster” issue

Becky Lynch has taken over the sports-entertainment scene in the last year, and this Friday, you can find the Raw Women’s Champion with actress Alison Brie on the cover of ESPN The Magazine’s “Blockbuster” issue.

The new issue focuses on the intersection between Hollywood and sports. Lynch and Brie, who is the star of Netflix’s hit comedy show “GLOW” on the 1980s Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling promotion, got together for an interview about the obstacles they face in their respective industries, the toughness of women, and much more.

The Man is the first WWE Superstar to ever appear on the cover of ESPN The Magazine. Get your hands on the issue when it hits newsstands this Friday.

KOFI KINGSTON INJURY UPDATE

At last night’s SmackDown Live event, Kofi shed some light on the recent injury worries surrounding him.

The show opened with the New Day, after they made their way to the ring Kofi announced that he wouldn’t be competing that evening. The reason he gave was an injury he’d pick up the night before. Kingston had wrestled Dolph Ziggler for an episode of Main Event.

Kofi promised that he would be ready to go at Extreme Rules this Sunday. At the pay per view Kingston is set to defend his WWE Championship against Samoa Joe.

MATCH ANNOUNCED FOR MLW: NEVER SAY NEVER ’19

MLW announced today that at their upcoming Never Say Never event Davey Boy Smith Jr. will face Timothy Thatcher. This hotly anticipated match will see two rising stars meet in a hotly anticipated match. MLW CEO Court Bauer said of the match:

“For years many have asked what if these two world-class athletes met in the ring, July 25th in New York that question will be answered.”

PWG ANNOUNCE ORANGE CASSIDY FOR BOLA

Earlier today, PWG announced that Orange Cassidy would be entering this year’s Battle of Los Angeles.

Cassidy made his PWG debut only in May of this year, losing to Chuck Taylor.

MATCH ADDED TO WWE EXTREME RULES

WWE announced today that both Tag Team Titles would be up for grabs at this Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay per view.

The event will see current champions, The Revival, take on the Usos’ with the titles on the line, the Usos’are former four-time SmackDown Tag champions and two-time WWE Tag Champions. This is The Revival’s second run with the titles.

The addition of the RAW Tag Titles match means that there are now six title matches at the pay per view. See the most up to date card below:

  • Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Samoa Joe – WWE Championship match

CHRIS JERICHO SEGMENT ADDED TO FIGHT FOR THE FALLEN

AEW has announced that Chris Jericho will have a segment during the upcoming ‘Fight for the Fallen’ event.
