Following Kazuchika Okada’s win over Bad Luck Fale to retain the IWGP Heavyweight title, Okada called out Kenny Omega for a second go around of their sure-fire match of the year contest from WrestleKingdom 11.
We also have new NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Champions, as the L.I.J trio of EVIL, SANADA and BUSHI defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi, Ricochet and Ryusuke Taguchi following an MX from Bushi onto Taguchi. The other title contest of the night saw War Machine retain the IWGP tag team titles in a three way match which also involved Guerillas of Destiny and Tencozy.
In two marquee singles contests, the Bullet Club reigned supreme as Kenny Omega defeated Tomohiro Ishii, and Cody beat David Finlay.
We also have our standard raft of tag team action, as the L.I.J duo of Tetsuya Naito and Hiromu Takahashi won against KUSHIDA and Juice Robinson, The CHAOS squad of Hirooki Goto, Roppongi Vice, Jado and Toru Yano defeated Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Taichi, Taka Michinoku, El Desperado and Minoru Suzuki representing Suzuki-Gun. CHAOS were also successful as YOSHI-HASHI and Will Ospreay bested Yujiro Takahashi and Chase Owens of The Bullet Club.
In our two opening contests, Tiger Mask, Tiger Mask W and Togi Makabe defeated Jushin Thunder Liger, Yuji Nagata and Manabu Nakanishi and Yoshitatsu and Hirai Kawato beat Katsuya Kitamura and Takayuki Oka.
The other big news also saw the participants of this years Best Of The Super Juniors 2017, with Marty Scurll making his New Japan Pro Wrestling debut, alongside the notable returns of ACH, Volador Jr and Dragon Lee.
