TWO TRIBES WENT TO WAR AS RING OF HONOR AND NEW JAPAN HOSTED ‘WAR OF THE WORLDS’ BUT THE BULLET CLUB’S WORLD WAS TURNED UPSIDE DOWN BY NIGHTS END IN NEW YORK CITY.
Marty Scurll, who earlier successfully defended his ROH Television Title against Matt Sydal, shockingly joined The Bullet Club, with The Young Bucks superkicking their former member Adam Cole, following Kenny Omega appearing on the screen and firing the former three time ROH World Champion, following his loss to Hiroshi Tanahashi.
The Bucks also retained their ROH Tag Team Championship in a wild tag team match against the Los Ingobernables de Japon pairing of Testuya Naito and BUSHI.
Bullet Club could not capture the ROH World Title though, as Christopher Daniels squeaked out a win over Cody and Jay Lethal in a three way dance, with Daniels pinning ‘The American Nightmare’ off a Best Moonsault Ever while Lethal was wrapped up in a figure four leg lock.
One of the biggest stories of the night however happened before the show. New Japan Pro Wrestling unveiling a brand-new championship division in their company. the IWGP United States Title was announced by NJPW United States Ambassador George Carroll, and it’s first champion will be decided at the ‘G1 Special USA’ in Long Beach, California on the 1st and 2nd of July.
In a marquee match-up, Will Ospreay bested Jay White in a phenomenal contest. Bully Ray and The Briscoes retained the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Titles beating Hiroki Goto and Roppongi Vice in a no disqualification match, War Machine beat The L.I.J duo of EVIL and Sanada and also Chris Sabin and Jonathan Gresham in a three team match-up and Hangman Page bested Kazarian via holding the ropes during a roll-up
Finally, Dalton Castle beat KUSHIDA, Bobby Fish and Silas Young in a four-corner survival match to open the show.
