SHAD GASPARD MISSING IN MARINA DEL REY

LONG-TIME WWE BACKSTAGE EMPLOYEE LEAVES

According to PWInsider, WWE’s Vice President of Global Television Production Michael Mansury officially left the company last week.

He gave notice to the company several months ago, informing them that he would be finishing up in May. Mansury was first hired in 2009 as a Production Assistant. He quickly became an Associate Producer, Producer, and then Managing Producer. He was promoted to the role of Vice President of Global Television Production in March 2016.

Mansury was reportedly seen as a significant part of the Triple H regime and some people in the company thought that he would eventually fill Kevin Dunn’s role of Executive Producer.

DREW GULAK/WWE UPDATE

This weekend, it was confirmed that Drew Gulak had left the WWE after his contract expired.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has said that Drew Gulak’s negotiations with WWE is not a dead issue. Gulak was originally seeking out a raise from the higher-ups in WWE but was denied I, only for WWE to pull the contract offer they originally proposed to him, calling off negotiations.

He also reported that the former Cruiserweight Champion is being represented by Barry Bloom in his negotiations.

WWE FILE NEW TRADEMARKS

WWE filed to trademark two names last week, In Your House and Sister Abigail.

“In Your House” was filed filed with the USPTO (United States Patent & Trademark Office) on Monday, May 11th for the return of the pay-per-view name as WWE NXT “Takeover: In Your House” has been announced for Sunday, June 7th.

WWE filed to trademark the finisher of Bray Wyatt, “Sister Abigail” on Wednesday, May 13th.

FINAL CASINO LADDER MATCH ENTRANT TO BE A SURPRISE

The final participant for the Casino Ladder Match at Double or Nothing will won’t be revealed before the event itself.

Darby Allin, Colt Cabana, Orange Cassidy, Fenix, Scorpio Sky, Kip Sabian, Frankie Kazarian, and Luchasaurus have already been announced for the match this Saturday.

The winner of the Casino Ladder Match will receive a future shot at the AEW World Championship.

YOUNG BUCKS BOOK POSTPONED

According to PWInsider, The Young Bucks’ upcoming autobiography is reportedly being pushed back to November.

“Young Bucks: Killing the Business from Backyards to the Big Leagues” is now slated for November 17th instead of its original September 29th release on Amazon, Apple Books and other reputable book stores.

TNT TO AIR COUNTDOWN TO DOUBLE OR NOTHING

Ahead of this Saturday’s Double or Nothing, TNT will air a ‘Countdown to AEW Double or Nothing’ special this Friday at 10PM ET/3AM BST.

It will preview the shows upcoming card, with special hype packages and vignettes.

ACE AUSTIN REPLACES KEN SHAMROCK IN IMPACT TOURNAMENT

Following an attack on Michael Elgin last week, IMPACT announced that Ken Shamrock won’t be competing in the tournament to crown a No. 1 contender to the IMPACT World Title.

Former X-Division Champion Ace Austin will take on Rhino in the first round on the May 19th episode of IMPACT.

RICHARD HOLLIDAY RE-SIGNS WITH MLW

Major League Wrestling announced today that Richard Holliday has signed a new multi-year deal with the company.

MLW CEO spoke about the former MLW Tag Team Champion remaining with the promotion, saying;

“Richard has become a staple of MLW and its telecasts, helping to lead the charge in representing the league as a world class homegrown athlete. He is a dynastic competitor with qualities you seldom find. MLW is ecstatic to continue to feature Richard Holliday for years to come.”

Holliday also spoke about the deal, saying;

“Anytime you’re making a decision for your future, all aspects in regards to it must be considered. MLW checked all of the boxes in terms of opportunity, presentation, creative process, and upwards mobility. Other offers were presented, and of course taken into consideration, but remaining with MLW felt like the best decision for me.”

RICKY STARKS LEAVES NWA

Ricky Starks announced on Monday’s Busted Open Radio that he has left the National Wrestling Alliance and is now a free agent.

Starks joined NWA in August 2019, winning the NWA Television Title at Hard Times in January.

LARRY CSONKA PASSES AWAY

Pro wrestling writer Larry Csonka has passed away, his website 411 Mania has announced.

Larry was a staple in the online wrestling community for decades dating back to the early days of wrestling sites on the internet in the late 90s.

We here at TWM offers our condolences to Larry’s friends and family, and offer our respects to an inspiration in our industry.

We’ll miss you Larry.
