NIKKI BELLA DISCUSSES WHY SHE HAD TO RETIRE

Nikki Bella, whilst on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon discussed the injuries that forced her to retire from professional wrestling. She revealed that she not only suffered a neck injury, but also had a cyst on her brain.

“I really wanted to go back and fight for the [Women’s] tag titles. You know, I’ve always had my neck issues. And after neck surgery, like, it hasn’t been okay.

I felt like I needed to get that check-up before we went back for the tag titles. And then it came back — I herniated the disc above where I had surgery. I have all this inflammation around the metal, and then I have a cyst on my brain. So they were like, ‘You’re done, no more, you’re out.’ So, I didn’t get a choice.”

Nikki & Brie Bella both announced their retirements from in-ring competition on season four of Total Bellas. Nikki also told TMZ Sports that the cyst on her brain is benine.

TOTAL BELLAS RENEWED FOR FIFTH SEASON

Also on Jimmy Fallon, The Bella’s announced that their show “Total Bellas has been renewed for for a fifth season.

The season will consist of 10, hour-long episodes premiering on E! in early 2020. Speaking on the show, The Bella’s said;

“We’re at a really exciting point in our lives and can’t wait to take the Bella Army on this journey as we continue to work hard and inspire them to live their dreams.” [Brie Bella]

“We’re looking forward to sharing our triumphs and challenges with our fans this season and hope they all have as much fun as we’re having along the way.” [Nikki Bella]

WRESTLEMANIA HEADING TO LONDON?

According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE recently issued a marketing study regarding future WrestleMania events and one city listed under consideration for a future host city for the grandest stage of them all was London, England.

WWE fans have been clamouring for a London WrestleMania for years and it is notable that it is being considered in spite of the logistical and time issues it would entail. Other cities being considered for future WrestleMania’s were: Chicago, Illinois; Jacksonville, Florida; Las Vegas, Nevada; Santa Clara, California; Houston, Texas; Dallas, Texas; Philadelphia, PA; Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Miami, Florida; Orlando, Florida; Tampa, Florida.

WrestleMania 36 will be held at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florids and WrestleMania 37 is rumoured to be at the new 70,240-seat Los Angeles Stadium being built in Inglewood’s Hollywood Park.

FYTER FEST & FIGHT FOR THE FALLEN WILL COST UK FANS

Many fans rejoiced when AEW owner Tony Khan announced that both Fyter Fest and Fight For The Fallen will be available for free on B/R Live. However, if you are a fan in the UK or Ireland you will have to cough up some dough.

In a press release, AEW announces a deal with ITV Box Office to show both shows at a price of £8.99/€9.99.

In a press release; FITE TV said;

“ITV, the largest commercial television network in the UK, today announced that AEW’s next two shows, FYTER FEST and FIGHT FOR THE FALLEN, will be available in the UK and Ireland through FITE TV in collaboration with ITV Box Office. Each show will be available in the UK for £8.99 and in Ireland for €9.99, respectively. Details about how to access FYTER FEST can be found at www.fite.tv.”

JIM CORNETTE CAUGHT USING RACIAL SLUR

Professional Wrestler David Starr unearthed a tweet from 2017 where controversial wrestling figure Jim Cornette is recorded using a racial slur.

Jim Cornette has not commented on this thus far.

DRAKE MAVERICK GETS MARRIED, LOSES 24/7 TITLE

It was a bittersweet day for 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick as he lost his coveted WWE 24/7 Championship just as he walked the aisle with his new bride.

WWE uploaded a hilarious video where R-Truth pinned Maverick to regain the 24/7 title. In the video, Maverick (who was wearing the 24/7 title belt) and his new wife Renee Michelle were walking back down the aisle after their wedding, only for a ref to appear and Truth to regain the gold for the sixth time with a roll-up.

Maverick and former Mae Young Classic competitor Michelle were married on Thursday.  Congratulations to the happy couple!
