Bobby Roode is your new NXT Champion, defeating Shinsuke Nakamura after a Glorious DDT. Nakamura was also suffering from a a kayfabe knee injury following a Kinshasa earlier in the contest.

However that was not the only major story of the night. Seth Rollins shocked everyone as he jumped the rail to return to where it all began for him, and demanded to face Triple H there and then after he was seemingly cost his spot in the Royal Rumble. Triple H did appear, but sent security and officials to subdue the enraged former WWE Champion.

The Kick-Off show was not without it’s share of breaking news as Corey Graves announced he will be stepping down as NXT colour commentator to focus on his main roster work. He will be replaced by new WWE recruit, former ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness.
