WRESTLEMANIA TO BE FILMED THIS WEEK

As we reported earlier this week, this year’s WrestleMania will not be live.

It was confirmed yesterday that the year was getting stranger still, with the greatest show on Earth being pre-recorded. The event will be filmed over the coming week, with a huge amount of other WWE content.

Yesterday two episodes of SmackDown were filmed, today see’s NXT content being filmed, with Monday dedicated to RAW. Following that, Tuesday and Wednesday will be spent filming matches and segments for the pay-per-veiw.

WrestleMania is current schedualed for the 4th and 5th of April, all of this week’s tapings will take the company up to the end of the show. What happens after is very unclear, with predictions a few days ahead impossible at the moment, trying to plan for next month may prove a futile act.

WRESTLECON PROVIDES UPDATE

With WrestleMania changing format so massively, WrestleCon was forced into announcing their cancellation recently. Unfortunetly, some of the venues were reluctant to offer refunds in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

WrestleCon has provided an update regarding refunds and the state of the company via Twitter. Happily they have processed a huge number of refunds and all those which have been successful have been returned. This totalled around 4,000 transactions.

Unfortunely, the company is yet to recieve a cent from any of the rented venues. While they understand that the different places need time, WrestleCon also note they they are currently having a huge sale on their online store to raise funds.

With the cancellation of the Blood and Guts match, AEW has moved to fill out this week’s card. Cody and Jimmy have never competed in AEW, while the only singles match the pair have ever had saw Cody claim the BPW title in a no count-out, no DQ match for BPW in Georgia.

The latest event to fall victim to the Covid-19 pandemic is Impact Wrestling’s Rebellion event.

The event was due to take place on April 19, at Terminal 5, New York city. AXS.com, who were selling tickets for event, now list it as cancelled due to the public health concern. At the time of writing Impact haven’t acknoledged the cancelation, but it is thought that it will just be a matter of time.
