HUGE NAMES ENTER INTO THE G1 CLIMAX

At last night’s Dominion event two stars entered themselves into the G1 Climax after winning their respective matches.

The first was NJPW newcomer Jon Moxley. After defeating Shota Umino, the IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion took to the microphone and declared his intentions as to the G1 Climax. This was only Moxley’s second match in the promotion, with his debut coming earlier in the same week.

The second star to declare themselves for the G1 was Shingo Takagi. Takagi defeated Satoshi Kojima at Dominion, following his victory he also used the microphone to make his plans clear. Takagi was undefeated in this year’s Best of the Super Juniors, only losing to Will Ospreay in the final.

KENTA APPEARS AT DOMINION

NXT’s former Hideo Itami has made his first appearance since leaving WWE. Appearing at last night’s Dominion pay-per-view, Kenta made his way to the ring after being introduced by Katsuyori Shibata. A man of few words, KENTA only spoke to confirm his entry into this year’s G1 Climax tournament.

TITLE MATCH SET FOR SOUTHERN SHOWDOWN

After Will Ospreay captured the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship for the third time at Dominion, he wasted little time before setting up his first defence.

After defeating Dragon Lee, Ospreay made his way to the English announce table an informed the world that he wanted to defend his title against Robbie Eagles at Southern Showdown.

Southern Showdown is set to take place in Eagles home country of Australia on the 29th of June. Will and Robbie are no strangers to each other, meeting many times previously in the ring. Robbie and El Phantasmo are the only two people to beat Will during this year’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament.

ALI DONATES SUPER SHOWDOWN PAYCHECK

WWE super-star Ali announced on Twitter that he will be donating his pay from Friday night’s Super ShowDown pay-per-view. Ali was part of the 50ish Man Battle Royale.

Many believe that WWE stars who appear on the Saudi shows make several times what they normally would expect to. Chris Jericho commented that his pay from last year’s Greatest Royal Rumble was his largest single cheque ever.

Ali has explained why he’s chosen to donate his pay, though many expect it is to counter a lot of the negative press the company and stars have received in relation to working in the kingdom.
