CHANGES TO THE ROYAL RUMBLE CARD

WWE has cancelled plans for Ronda and Charlotte to face each other at this year’s Royal Rumble. With last nights episode of RAW and the surprise Number 1 Contenders match between Nia Jax and Sasha Banks, we now know that it will be Sasha Banks now facing the RAW Women’s Champion.

 

NWA TITLE MATCH ANNOUNCED

Announced on the ROH website yesterday, Nick Aldis is set to defend his NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title against PJ Black at the ‘ROH International TV Taping’ event. Aldis last beat James Storm at the January 5th ‘New Years Clash’ pop-up event to retain his title. The statement said:

“Aldis has proved to be a worthy champion since winning the title in December 2017. He successfully defended the “10 pounds of gold” for 266 days before losing it to Cody in September. The native of England regained the championship from Cody seven weeks later in a two-out-of-three falls match. Aldis made several appearances in ROH in 2018, most recently at the end of September, when he defeated Christopher Daniels. During his 13-year career, Aldis has defeated such stars as Sting, AJ Styles, and Samoa Joe.”

 

INJURED STAR SEEN AT PERFORMANCE CENTER

PW Insider has reported that SmackDown superstar Erick Rowan has been spotted at the WWE’s Performance Centre in Florida. Rowan has been out of action since tearing his bicep, which has been surgically repaired. With visits to the Performance Centre normally coming toward the end of an injury period, the signs are positive regarding his return to the ring.

 

MORE NAMES FOR THE RUMBLE

WWE has confirmed another five names for the men’s Royal Rumble match. With ‘Big Match’ John Cena, Apollo Crews, Jinder Mahal, and Baron Corbin all added. With over half the field now confirmed, the list now stands at:

  • Big E
  • Kofi Kingston
  • Samoa Joe
  • Bobby Lashley
  • Xavier Woods

  • John Cena
  • Elias
  • Baron Corbin
  • Jinder Mahal

 

The women’s match had superstars add too, with Alicia Fox being confirmed by the WWE. With 10 names now announced, currently, the list stands at:

  • Bayley
  • Ruby Riott
  • Sarah Logan
  • Liv Morgan
  • Mandy Rose
  • Sonya Deville
  • Sasha Banks
  • Ember Moon

 

LACEY EVANS AND EC3 AT RAW LAST NIGHT

It was widely reported that two of the current crop of NXT call-ups were at RAW last night and were part of a ‘Main Event’ taping. The episode is expected to air on Thursday.

 

BULLET CLUB MEMBER RE-SIGNS WITH NJPW

Chase Owens has announced that he has re-signed with NJPW. He has been a member of the Bullet Club since October 2015. Owens has been wrestling since 2007 and joined NJPW in 2014. With big names leaving recently, NJPW will undoubtedly be happy with retaining the former NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion.
