Luke Harper made his in-ring return last night at a RAW house show in Rochester, New York. In his match, the returning former Tag-Team champion defeated Mojo Rawley. Harper has been out of action since electing to have surgery on his wrist. He was last seen in the WWE at the start of October last year. Harper tweeted “Is anything going on in Rochester, NY tonight?” teasing his return before the show. After the event he added that the day had been tremendous:

WALLY YAMAGUCHI DIES

Yusuke “Wally” Yamaguchi has unfortunately passed away at the age of 60. Wally is best known to western audiences as the manager of WWE stable Kaientai but was very influential in his native Japan. Wally got his start as the leader of the Mil Mascaras Fan Club and then Gong Magazine (weekly wrestling magazine with a huge readership in the ’80s and ’90s). He later worked as a Japanese liaison which is when he brought Kaientai to the WWE.

LUCKY KID WINS wXw 16 CARAT GOLD

Today marked the final day of wXw’s 16 Carat Gold tournament. The three-day tournament has seen many twists and turns, including an appearance by WWE’s Alexander Wolfe. The eventual winner was fan-favorite Lucky Kid. The final saw WALTER (who previously won in 2010) vs. Lucky Kid with Kid winning via his Lion’s Cage submission move.

JONAH ROCK MAKES HIS WWE DEBUT

Jonah Rock made his WWE debut at the same NXT house show that also saw Trevor Lee stepping foot in a WWE ring for the first time. Rock wrestled using his real name (Jermaine Haley) in a losing effort to Riddick Moss. Rock came to the ring prior to the match and gave a typical babyface promo before the action began.
