WWE Monday Night Raw Results – 8th July, 2019

Daniel McIver runs down the results from tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

With Extreme Rules right around the corner, Monday Night RAW rolled into Newark, New Jersey with huge ramifications. An inter-gender tag match, a former world champion returning and more; the Paul Heyman era of Monday Night RAW has set the bar high.

  • INTER-GENDER ELIMINATION TAG TEAM MATCH- Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins vs Zelina Vega and Andrade. MATCH RESULT- Rollins and Lynch win via pinfall.
  • Post match- Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans attack the two champions.
  • Paul Heyman comes to the ring and states that Brock Lesnar will cash in his MITB contract at Extreme Rules this Sunday. However, he hints that he could be lying.
  • Braun Strowman vs Bobby Lashley in a Last Man Standing match is confirmed for Extreme Rules.
  • TWO OUT OF THREE FALLS SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH- The Miz and The Usos vs Elias and The Revival. MATCH RESULT- The Miz and The Usos via pinfall.
  • We see a compilation of Drake Maverick’s Twitter videos before cutting to Drake Maverick in a crate with his wife keeping watch.
  • REY MYSTERIO OPEN CHALLENGE- Rey Mysterio vs Bobby Lashley. MATCH RESULT- Bobby Lashley wins via pinfall in one minute.
  • Post match- Bobby Lashley beats down Mysterio.
  • Backstage; The Club are asked why they attacked Ricochet last week. They refuse to give an answer.
  • MEN’S SINGLES MATCH- Cesaro vs No Way Jose. MATCH RESULT- Cesaro via submission.
  • Backstage; The Street Profits plug Extreme Rules.
  • We get a re-cap on everything that went down last week with Mike and Maria Kanellis. Mike then offers Maria flowers but is told to go and get her ice cream and pickles.
  • During a split screen interview; Nikki Cross and Bayley discuss their upcoming Beat the Clock challenge tonight. Bayley, again, tries to tell Nikki that Alexa Bliss is just using her but Nikki doesn’t accept it. It is announced that Bayley will face Sarah Logan and Nikki will face Dana Brooke.
  • Backstage- R-Truth and Carmella are trying to find Drake Maverick.
  • MEN’S TAG TEAM MATCH- The Viking Raiders vs Local Competitors. MATCH RESULT– The Viking Raiders win via pinfall in less than a minute.
  • After the match- the 24/7 Title ‘locker-room’ hit the ring and the Viking Raiders tear apart multiple superstars.
  • Backstage- Roman is asked how he feels about his upcoming tag match with Shane and Drew. He doesn’t know who his partner is going to be but he’s not worried.
  • MEN’S SINGLES MATCH- Ricochet vs Luke Gallows. MATCH RESULT- Ricochet wins via a sudden small package.
  • Post match- AJ Styles challenges Ricochet to face off against Karl Anderson.
  • MEN’S SINGLES MATCH- Ricochet vs Karl Anderson. MATCH RESULT- Ricochet wins via pinfall.
  • Post match; The Club beat down Ricochet like last week. They tell him to stay down but he refuses. Gallows and Anderson hold him upright as Styles hit a Phenomenal Forearm.
  • Backstage, Truth finds Maverick and chases him again. We then see Shane and Drew have picked Roman Reigns’ tag team partner- a limping janitor.
  • WOMAN’S BEAT THE CLOCK CHALLENGE– Bayley vs Sarah Logan. MATCH RESULT- Bayley wins via pinfall and sets the time to beat at 4 minutes 32 seconds.
  • WOMAN’S BEAT THE CLOCK CHALLENGE- Nikki Cross vs Dana Brooke. MATCH RESULT– Nikki Cross wins via pinfall and beats the clock by almost 2 minutes faster than required.
  • Nikki Cross announces that Alexa Bliss and Bayley will compete in a 2 on 1 handicap match for the Smackdown Woman’s Championship. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross vs Bayley.
  • Backstage- Maria hints that she may have cheated on Mike.
  • Corey Graves interviews Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. Lynch states that they’re both going to beat Corbin and Evans on Sunday.
  • The Street Profits appear again to plug Extreme Rules.
  • MEN’S TAG TEAM MATCH- Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and ‘Gary Garbutt’. MATCH RESULT- Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon win via pinfall.
  • Post match- ‘Gary’ is revealed to be Cedric Alexander.

Overall, a huge dip in quality from last week’s show. Just…not good.
