WWE NXT Results – August 7th 2019

Matty Deller runs down the results from last night’s episode of NXT.

Before NXT TakeOver the city of Toronto, what will happen on the final stop before this Saturday?

  • We open with a contract signing for the NXT Tag Team Championship match between The Street Profits and The Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly). Street Profits came out first and introduced their challengers as “O’Reilly Auto Parts and Laurence Fishburne¬†Jr.”. O’Reilly and Fish mocked The Street Profits, saying they are not on their level. Fish said that the Profits’ autographs were in demand for the first time for the contract signing and made a joke about the Profits being tag champions. Montez Ford said the champs cannot lose and that losing was not an option. Angelo Dawkins added that the Profits are going to “beat that ass” before ending it with saying that’s undisputed before both teams signed the contract.
  • We see a video package detailing the NXT North American Title match.
  • We see another video package for the NXT Women’s Championship match.
  • Shane Thorne defeated Joaquin Wilde via pinfall.
  • We get another video package, this time for Io Shirai vs Candice LeRae.
  • Matt Riddle vs Killian Dain never started, due to Dain attacking Riddle before the bell on the outside. A brawl ensued, which ended with Killian cannonballing himself into Riddle and the steel steps, leaving him laying.
  • We then see the “Prime Target: TakeOver” special for the NXT Championship match between Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano.
