IN A BATTLE OF THE BRANDS, RED BEAT BLUE AT SURVIVOR SERIES. BUT THE FINAL SHOWDOWN WAS NOT WITHOUT CONTROVERSY.
Raw beat SmackDown Live 4-3 with the Raw mens team comprising of Triple H, Kurt Angle, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman beat the SmackDown Live contingent of Shane McMahon, John Cena, Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura and Bobby Roode. Although it appears the real story happened towards the end. With Triple H, Angle and Braun standing above a fallen Shane McMahon ‘The Game’ inexplicably pedigreed Angle, and put Shane on top of Angle to eliminate Raw’s team captain. However, any thoughts that Triple H had joined forces with the blue brand were short lived, as he dropped Shane O’Mac with a pedigree once again for the win. ‘The Monster Among Men’ was incensed by this development and dropped Triple H with a powerslam to stand tall to close the show.
Raw’s other wins came courtesy of The Shield, who came out on top against SmackDown Live’s The New Day, Raw’s Womens team comprising of Asuka, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Nia Jax beating the SmackDown Live team of Natayla, Tamina, Carmella, Naomi and Becky Lynch, where ‘The Empress Of Tomorrow’ was the sole survivor. WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar got his win for Raw, beating WWE Champion AJ Styles in a fantastic match-up.
The Blue brand’s victories came from United States Champion Baron Corbin (who beat Intercontinental Champion The Miz), SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions The Usos who beat Raw Tag Team Champions The Bar and SmackDown Live Womens Champion Charlotte, who bested Raw’s Womens Champion Alexa Bliss.
Finally, in non-brand warfare pre show action Enzo Amore retained his WWE Cruiserweight Title against Kalisto, Elias bested Matt Hardy and the team of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn beat Breezango.
