    AEW Dynamite Results – April 1, 2020

Tonight is the big night as Lance Archer gets his first match in AEW!

Kenny Omega defeated Trent Beretta via Pinfall (One Winged Angel)

Trent was accompanied by his TWO best friends, Chuckie T and Orange C.

As expected, everyone was involved in the fight for large parts, but Omega picked up the victory with a V-Trigger, followed by a One-Winged Angel for the three count.

Good bout, which shows why you should never sleep on Trentilocks.

Hikaru Shida defeated Anna Jayy via Pinfall (Falcon Arrow)

The number one ranked AEW woman, Hikaru Shida fought newcome Anna Jayy.

It was a simple victory for Hikaru, despite some interference from Dr Britt Baker on the sidelines.

Shida picked up the win with a Falcon Arrow.

Shida and Baker exchanged more words after the match.

Jake Roberts cut a promo and said Cody might be smarter than he gave him credit for.

Lance Archer defeated Mark Stunt via Pinfall (Blackout)

There was only going to be one winner here, and that was Marko St…not of course it wasn’t.

Lance Archer was dominant from the opening bell. Not much to discuss, expect Archer returned to the ring after the bout and chokeslammed Stunt into those AEW superstars who had ventured out to watch the show in the front row.

We saw another video from Brodie Lee in the ‘Dark Order’ compound. Lee hurled abuse at a minion not referring to him as Mr. Brodie, then did the same to another on another for yawning. Lee was dressed very similar to Vince McMahon.

Natural Nightmares (Dustin Rhodes and OT Marshall) defeated Dark Order

Rhodes and Marshall competed against Dark Order number eight and nine…no idea.

The NN won pretty easily, which angered the “Exalted One” Brodie Lee, who took to the ring and proceeded to powerbomb the Dark Order member who took the pinfall.

We then see Jericho in a hot tub at his estate. He celebrated April Fools Day by mocking The Elite, until Vanguard One appeared. He tried to apologise to it, but could not say sorry. Jericho again offered Vanguard One a spot in The Inner Circle and placed a tiny Inner Circle shirt on Vanguard. Vanguard flew away, and Jericho ‘released the hounds’. The hounds were just his dogs.

We then see The Young Bucks practising in a ring, with an update on Nick Jackson’s health.

Sammy Guevara and Shawn Spears defeated Darby Allin and Cody

This match had all the potential to be a cracking main event, and it delivered.

Lots of back-and-forth action, with plenty of involvement from the AEW crowd aka the rest of the roster – such as Cody being attacked by Kip Sabian and Jimmy Havoc.

Allin did the classic Coffin Drop to Sammy and Spears from the top of a very large pole…as you do.

After some confusion between Cody and Allin, Spears rolled Allin up for the win.

Allin then decked Cody out of frustration to close the show.
