AEW Dynamite Results – December 4th, 2019

Paige Brearley runs down the results from tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

After last week, will Cody get a confrontation with MJF? Will we finally figure out why Brandi and Awesome Kong are collecting people’s hair?

Young Bucks and Dustin Rhodes defeated The Inner Circle (Sammy Guevara, Santana, and Ortiz) via Pinfall (Indy Taker/Senton Combo)

The Bucks and Rhodes, with their matching gear, looked like they were having a lot of fun together as a team. This match had a lot of high flying, hard hits, and even vlogging. It was a fun one, great way to open the show.

Rey Fenix defeated Trent via Pinfall (Spinning Muscle Buster)

The match started off at a quick pace, both men trying to hit moves while their opponents ducked them. We know Fenix is world class, but getting to see Trent shine on his own was fantastic to see.

After the match, Trent offered a handshake to Fenix who refused. Their was pushing and shoving, mind you this was all done in picture and picture so we don’t know what was said. But heel Lucha Bros seem like they will be fantastic.

Cody was interviewed by Tony Schiavone about what has been going on the last few weeks, at least I think that’s what it was about. Cody says that the people who normally help lift him up in these situations are all busy dealing with their own problems. For example, his brother is in a “blood war” with Inner Circle and his wife is too busy cutting hair off the women’s division. He goes on to say that he is familiar with Butcher and Blade and they could have just asked for a match.

Then, Cody hits on the MJF issue. He says that while MJF won’t face him, Cody needs him too. Cody says MJF owes him this match because he was hand picked by Cody when no one else wanted him (Cody has receipts).

Eventually Cody began to just give away a bunch of things that MJF would want in order to get him to agree to a match. The things included Cody’s car, his watch from Tony Kahn, his shoes, and over $50,000. MJF basically just needs to name his price.

Joey Janela is interviewed backstage about his match with Jon Moxley tonight. Janela says he accepted the challenge because he wants to make a name for himself. He says this match is different then their first match, this time Moxley will have to kill him. Mox shows up after, looks at Janela and just says “kids” and leaves.

Back from commercial we are treated to another Dark Order promo video. Honestly not quite sure what to make of it.

Nyla Rose defeated Leva Bates via Pinfall (Beast Bomb)

Peter Avalon tried to interfere on behalf of Bates, but paid the price. Rose took care of them both by delivering simultaneous choke slams. After defeating Bates, Rose delivered a second Beast Bomb.

We then went to commercial, meaning picture in picture so we can see Rose still attempting to attack Bates. Shanna tried to make the save, but unfortunately she ended up being destroyed by Rose. A table was set up by Nyla, which she wound up putting the ref through.

Back from commercial we are greeted by Chris Jericho and Jake Hager. Jericho of course starts off by making fun of Champaign, IL (Not cool Y2J, not cool). Then he tells everyone to go buy a little bit of the bubbly, because he has sold so much.

Jericho is being “forced” to have one more match in 2019, so he put together a list, which the crowd popped for. As Jericho said it isn’t 2016 anymore, so the list has been revamped to “The Lexicon of Le Champion.” The Lexicon is everyone he refuses to wrestle in 2019. Moxley is said a lot, very reminiscent of the list of 1,004 holds.

Jericho doesn’t get to finish his lexicon as Jurassic Express interrupts. While Jericho has put dinosaurs and “kids” (Marko Stunt) on the list, Luchasaurus says his people have been marginalized for 65 million years. This leaves Jungle Boy, who Jericho thinks is a piece of shit.

Le Champion doesn’t believe Jungle Boy could last ten minutes in the ring with him. Jungle Boy grabs the mic, says he knows he can and slaps Jericho. A brawl breaks out, Jericho throws a tantrum, but on December 18th Jungle Boy challenges Chris Jericho for the AEW Championship.

Before the next match up we discover that Nyla Rose has been suspended for her actions earlier in the night.

Kris Statlander defeated Hikaru Shida via Pinfall (Big Bang Theory)

Although the crowd seemed firmly behind Shida, Kris Statlander pulled off the ultimate upset. It was just refreshing to see two women’s matches on AEW TV. Statlander getting her first victory could lead to big things.

After the match, Awesome Kong and Brandi Rhodes come out. Brandi says that people loathe what they can’t understand because people are afraid. She says people have been trying to figure out who and what they are up too. Brandi says her and Kong make up the Nightmare Collective.

She gives Kris Statlander an opportunity to pledge herself to the Nightmare Collective. Pledging herself would mean Statlander would be protected for life. A fan in the crowd is screaming about being picked and that she will pledge herself to the Collective. Said fan is let to the ring where Kong cuts most of her hair.

Pentagon Jr defeated Christopher Daniels via Pinfall (Package Piledriver)

This was Christopher Daniels first singles match in a long time. He attacked Penta as he was making his entrance, trying to get an advantage. Unfortunately it didn’t work out for him, revenge will have to come another day.

After the match, Butcher and Blade have a promo video. Bunny says what we witnessed last week is their first order of chaos. They are tired of seeing Cody’s face everywhere, it’s disgusting. They are here to cut the head off the snake.

Jon Moxley defeated Joey Janela via Pinfall (Paradigm Shift)

The match started off in a bit of a twist, who would have thought these two would have begun with wrestling moves! These two have great chemistry and don’t necessarily need to get too crazy. The match actually ended with two Paradigm Shifts, one being off the top turn buckle.

After the match, Jericho’s music hit and the Inner Circle came out through the crowd. The show ends with Jericho and Moxley staring each other down.
