AEW Dynamite Results – October 16th, 2019

Paige Brearley runs down the results from tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

The third weekly showing of AEWs Dynamite with 2 AEW Championship Matches and the continuation of the Tag Team Tournament.

  • SoCal Uncensored defeated Best Friends
    • Pentagon JR & Ray Fenix came out at the start of the match and attacked SCU, injuring Chris Daniels. Scorpio Sky ran down to make the save and replaced him in the match.
    • Scorpio pins Trent after a Powerbomb/Dropkick combination.
  • Santana & Ortiz defeated John Silver & Alex Reynolds
    • Glorified squash match. Santana & Ortiz win with the Street Sweeper.
    • Chris Jericho appears on the titantron screen and says that Santana & Ortiz challenge the Young Bucks at Full Gear.
    • Vignette is show for Cody Rhodes, this was an excellent package about his story thus far and about Cody balancing being the EVP of AEW and also a Wrestler of that same company.
  • Riho defeats Britt Baker; Retains the AEW Womens Championship
    • Baker went for her Lockjaw Submission but before Britt could put the Mandible Claw on, Riho rolled her up for the victory..
  • Lucha Bros defeat Jurassic Express, advancing in the Tag Team Tournament
    • Luchasaurus was injured and replaced with Marko Stunt. A really fun match with some entertaining spots involving Markos size and Pentagon ragdolling him. Finish was a Package Piledriver/Stomp on too Stunt for the win.
  • Adam Page & Kenny Omega defeat PAC & Jon Moxley
    • Moxley loses patience with PAC, after PAC stopped Jon from using a barbed wire bat onto Kenny. Moxley drops him with the Double Arm DDT.
    • PAC turns around and his hit with a buckshot lariat & v-trigger, then the Dead Eye from Adam Page to get the pin.
  • Chris Jericho retains the AEW World Championship over Darby Allin in a Philadelphia Street Fight.
    • Inventive spots galore. Towards the end, Jericho handcuffs Allin but Allin actually continues wrestling for a good 5 minutes with his hands behind his back, including multiple dives and moonsaults.
    • Jake Hager interferes and pushed Darby off the top rope, Jericho takes full advantage and locks in the Liontamer for the victory. His first successful title defence.
