ARN ANDERSON SIGNS MULTIYEAR DEAL WITH AEW
Arn Anderson has announced his signing of a multi-year deal with AEW on last night’s Dynamite.
The WWE Hall of Famer said
About a year ago I said I didn’t want to be anywhere that I’m not wanted, and that’s the way I felt. A year later it seems that I am wanted somewhere, and I’m very happy to say that today I signed a multiyear contract with AEW. I am absolutely thrilled to be here with all this young talent and watch this company blossom into the platinum of all of our industry.
Arn began wrestling in 1982, before joining Jim Crockett Promotions/WCW in 1984. Arn went on to wrestle until 1997, unfortunately retiring due to neck and back issues. Anderson joined the WWE, becoming a road agent in 2001, working there until February 2019. Arn debuted with AEW in August of 2019, working on screen with Cody Rhodes.

Interestingly, before the COVID-19 Fyter Fest was supposed to take place in London. The event was also formally billed as a pay-per-view.

NXT/AEW WEDNESDAY NIGHT RATINGS
With all that is going on in the world, it is no surprise that both AEW and NXT were down compared to last week. News programming dominated the ratings with people following the #BLM protests and later riots/looting.
AEW averaged 730,000 viewers, while NXT managed 715,000. This shows a significant narrowing between the two promotions.

WWE DROPS FREE FIRST MONTH FOR PAID SUBSCRIBERS
With the introduction of the free tier of the WWE network, it seems WWE has done away with their long-standing free first month with a paid subscription.
Most see this as a sensible move, the free month was always to allow people to sample the Network, now there is a free tier this isn’t needed.
