AEW HIRE AUBREY EDWARDS FULL TIME

MULTIPLE TITLE MATCHES ADDED TO NJPW’S KING OF PRO WRESTLING

With NJPW’s King of Pro Wrestling set to take place in mid-October, NJPW has started to fill out the match card for the night. Starting strong, the NJPW announced three title matches were to be added earlier today.

Firstly Kazuchika Okada will be defending his IWGP Heavyweight title against SANADA. SANADA defeated Okada at the G1 Climax to set the match up.

The second title up for contention is Jon Moxley’s IWGP United States Heavyweight title, he will be putting it on the line against Juice Robinson in a no DQ match.

The third title match announced for the event will involve El Phantasmo challenging for Will Ospreay’s IWGP Junior Heavyweight title. El Phantasmo won this year’s Super J-Cup, defeating Ospreay in the semi-final on his way to victory.

King of Pro Wrestling will be taking place at Sumo Hall in Tokyo on Monday the 14th of October.

DAVEY BOY SMITH JR VS. TOM LAWLOR ANNOUNCED FOR BLOODSPORT II

Earlier today it was announced that Davey Boy Smith Jr. would be facing Tom Lawlor at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport II event later this month.

With the first fight announced being Simon Grimm and Anthony Carelli a few days ago, Josh Barnett announced Davey Boy Smith Jr. Vs. Tom Lawlor earlier today.

Both Smith and Lawlor have fought at a Bloodsport event before. At the last Bloodsport event, Davey Boy Smith Jr. defeated Killer Kross, submitting him with a cross-face. At the original Bloodsport, Tom Lawlor took on WALTER in a losing effort, submitting to a head and arm choke.

The Bloodsport events are a little different to normal pro wrestling. Each match must end either by knockout or submission, there are no ropes, just a canvas. The event takes its cues more from MMA than pro wrestling and this carries into the fighting styles and match presentation.
