BECKY LYNCH DENIES NEW WWE CONTRACT RUMOUR
RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch took to Twitter today to shoot down a report in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that The Man may have signed a new WWE contract.
In the Observer, it was said that Lynch had signed a huge new multi-year deal worth $1 million per year. This was brought up because Lynch recently noted on RAW how she wouldn’t negotiate a new WWE contract with officials until she was granted the singles match with WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Asuka.
Becky took to twitter to deny this story, saying;
“Report not true. Haven’t signed anything new in years. Deal coming up soon,”
Becky Lynch will defend her RAW Women’s Title against Asuka at the 2020 Royal Rumble on January 26th.
MATT HARDY/WWE REPORTED CONTRACT ISSUES
According to Mike Johnson at PWInsider, Matt Hardy is in negotiations with WWE over a new deal, but there has been a sticking point in regards to how he will be used in the future. He feels that the company dropped the ball with his Woken gimmick.
There is now more to this story, with Dave Meltzer reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Hardy pitched the return of his Broken character, but the creative team was not interested. This has led to their negotiations stalling and could lead to Hardy jumping ship to AEW.
Strong rumours have now appeared stating that Hardy could revive his Broken character as The Exalted One in The Dark Order.
In recent weeks, Matt Hardy has repeatedly hinted that he will be leaving WWE when his contract expires on March 1st 2020. He has repeatedly liked and retweeted fans tweets about him being underutilised by WWE Creative and he began the FREE THE DELETE series on his YouTube channel back in October.
MARTY SCURLL REPORTEDLY OFFERED BIG MONEY TO STAY IN ROH
In the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Marty Scurll has been offered “WWE main roster money” to remain with Ring Of Honor.
In addition to this whopper financial deal, Scurll would only have to work 40 dates per-year, among other perks. This would reportedly be better than the big deal they gave Matt Taven in the company, but there is no confirmation that he has signed yet.
ROH recently announced that they will be bringing back the Supercard of Honor show for WrestleMania weekend, and Scurll’s name was mentioned in the press release.
Scurll is currently a free agent who will be working with ROH and the NWA for the near future.
