While fans speculate a fight announcement for GSP, things are looking to head another direction.
St-Pierre is looking leaner and more ripped than ever, and lately the former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion has been teasing a huge announcement for December 30th.
Mixed martial arts fans of the beloved GSP were quick to make assumptions of a dream scenario in which GSP makes a long-awaited return back to the Octagon to bring out lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov out of retirement for a blockbuster fight.
Sadly, it does appear that way, as the anticipation and excitement of a fight between the two will have to wait for a possible later date, if any.
Even though the UFC already announced earlier this year that the company would be inducting the legendary fighter into the Hall of Fame, they would not shy away from working out a deal if GSP did want to come out of retirement for a potential showdown with Khabib.
During the summer, St-Pierre even said himself that would fight Khabib during his appearance on the MMA TRUFAN podcast.
St-Pierre has not competed since November 2017 when he submitted another legend, Michael Bisping for the UFC middleweight title. Prior to that, his last fight was in 2013 at UFC 167 when he defeated Johnny Hendricks via decision, in a tightly contested fight before retiring from the sport.
With the announcement likely having to do with the complete opposite of a fight, it would not be surprising if he did announce a fight sometime in the future after seeing just how shredded GSP is even after years of announcing his retirement.
We will definitely be following St-Pierre on all social media platforms to see what he has in store.
