Big Segment Reportedly Planned For RAW | Wrestling News Update, 15 June 2020

MISSED ALL THE BIG NEWS IN WRESTLING? DO NOT FEAR WE WILL COVER ALL THE BIG STORIES IN ONE PLACE; THIS IS THE WRESTLING NEWS UPDATE!

SOMETHING “UNEXPECTED” REPORTEDLY HAPPENING ON RAW

According to @WrestleVotes on Twitter, RAW will feature “something unexpected” on the show.

They did not give anything away, but they did leave a cryptic note saying;

“Sometimes scares never heal.”

Now that doesn’t really make sense, but people are claiming that it could be typo of scars, which would be a lyric from Christian’s theme song.

All of this is just rumour and innuendo at the moment, but with WrestleVotes track record on reporting big news first it’s certainly makes RAW must-see TV.

DOMINICK MYSTERIO TO APPEAR ON RAW

Something we can confirm is that Dominick Mysterio, Rey Mysterio’s son will appear on RAW tonight.

After Seth Rollins invited Rey Mysterio and Dominik to tonight’s show last week, Dominik posted on Instagram that he’s accepted the invitation. The former World Champion hasn’t appeared in person on Raw since Rollins attacked his eye on the May 11th, but Mysterio has given updates on his status via video each of the past two weeks.

Dominik vowed ‘an eye for an eye’ following the attack in one of these videos.

IDENTITY OF KNIFE-WIELDING NINJA REVEALED

During last night’s Backlash, The Viking Raiders and RAW Tag Team Champions The Street Profits ended up brawling outside The Performance Centre and fought off a group of ninjas led by Akira Tozawa (no, I’m not making this up).

There was one particularly tall ninja that wielded a sword that led the two teams to run away. The identity of that man is WWE Performance Center recruit Jordan Omogbehin, who stands at 7 foot, 3 inches.

He was part of the class of recruits in October of 2018, and he made his in-right debut at an NXT live event last June.

AJ STYLES TO HOLD CHAMPIONSHIP CELEBRATION ON SMACKDOWN

During last night’s Backlash, the new WWE Intercontinental Champion AJ Styles announced that he will hold a championship celebration in honor of himself winning the gold this Friday on SmackDown.

He defeated Daniel Bryan in the finals of a tournament to crown a new champion, after Sami Zayn was stripped of the title on May 12th, due to him staying home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

WWE CONFIRM EXTREME RULES FOR JULY 19TH

Also during last night’s Backlash, WWE has confirmed that Extreme Rules 2020 will stream live on the WWE Network on Sunday, July 19th. Like the last two events no venue was confirmed but one would assume it will be at the WWE Performance Centre once more.

The show was originally meant to be at the SAP Center in San Jose, California however with the current climate, that of course is in extreme doubt. The SAP Center has yet to officially announce that the PPV isn’t taking place there.

A new logo for Extreme Rules with a purple and green color scheme was also unveiled.

CM PUNK TO APPEAR ON WWE BACKSTAGE

CM Punk will appear alongside WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart on this weeks episode of WWE Backstage.

Punk was most recently on Backstage when he was part of the panel for the June 2nd episode of the show. That episode featured a reunion between Punk and Daniel Bryan, as Bryan was a guest that week.

Hart is appearing to go along with Survivor Series 1996 airing on FS1 this week.
