Controversy surrounds the return event of PCW – formerly Preston City Wrestling, now Pro Championship Wrestling UK.
TWM has seen an email to show that, should the event at Kanteena go ahead, PCW could face prosecution or fine under the Licensing Act 2003
The controversial promotion has been advertising two events due to run later this month, but the majority of the talent featured on the event posters have publicly announced that they were either not booked, consulted about their inclusion on the posters or were booked but are now pulling out.
And now, it has emerged that the event, specifically the one at the Kanteena has not been approved by the local council. In an email, licensing manager for Lancaster City Council, Jennifer Curtis wrote:
“We are aware of the publicity advertising the event.
“No application for the event has been submitted as yet. Once received EHOs and Licensing will ensure Government guidelines are follower and risk assessment scrutinised.
“If public safety is compromised by the event then objections will be raised as this stage.”
TWM has reached out to PCW, but has not yet received a response.
