HUMBERTO CARRILLO VS ANDRADE ANNOUNCED FOR ROYAL RUMBLE

WWE have confirmed that Humberto Carrillo will challenge Andrade for the United States Championship at this Sunday’s Royal Rumble.

Following his victory over Rey Mysterio in a ladder match last night on RAW, Andrade was about to lay out Mysterio with the hammerlock DDT on the exposed concrete when Carrillo came in through the crowd and drove him off. In a backstage interview posted on social media, Carrillo challenged Andrade to a match at this Sunday’s Royal Rumble for Andrade’s United States title. 

The 2020 Royal Rumble will take place this Sunday at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.

WWE TO AIR HIGHLIGHT SHOWS ON FREE-TO-AIR UK TV

WWE will air hour-long versions of RAW and SmackDown on Channel 5, and NXT UK will air on delay on the Paramount Channel. Click here for the full story.

WWE NXT TO BE A PART OF ROYAL RUMBLE

WWE has released their annual “By The Numbers” video for Sunday’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view, and it appears to confirm that NXT will be a part of the two 30-person matches.

WWE has not officially announced NXT Superstars for Sunday’s big matches, but the video notes that “three brands collide in two Royal Rumble matches on one historic night”.

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that NXT Superstars will be involved this Sunday, with Shayna Baszler being a favourite to win the women’s match.

MIA YIM VS KAY LEE RAY ANNOUNCED FOR WORLDS COLLIDE PRE-SHOW

WWE have announced that NXT superstar Mia Yim will face NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray as a part of the Worlds Collide pre-show.

Yim and KLR are no strangers to one another, with Kay Lee Ray costing Yim a ladder match for the woman advantage from last years War Games.

Worlds Collide takes place the night before the Royal Rumble.

SPECIAL EPISODE OF WWE BACKSTAGE TO AIR NEXT WEEK

A special episode of WWE Backstage on FS1 will air live from Miami, Florida during the NFL’s Super Bowl 54 Week.

It was announced this week that Renee Young, Paige, Christian and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T will host the special event from South Beach on January 28th.

Fans can click here to request tickets to the special taping, with the event being open to ages 18 and up.

TWO MORE MATCHES MADE FOR AEW DYNAMITE

During the Road to Bahamas video posted through AEW’s social media channels, it was announced that Britt Baker will take on Priscilla Kelly on the special Dynamite episode taking place on the Chris Jericho ‘Rock N Wrestling’ cruise in the Bahamas.

Also announced was MJF takes on Joey Janela. Janela was originally scheduled to take on Fenix.

CHRIS JERICHO CRUISE TO RETURN IN 2021

Chris Jericho announced yesterday that there will be a third cruise that will take place next year.

The ‘ Rock N’ Rager at Sea: Triple Whammy’ cruise will take place on February 1st through to February 5th, departing from Miami and will tavel to the Bahamas.

SUZUKI VS DICKINSON ANNOUNCED FOR BLOODSPORT III

Another mouthwatering clash has been announced for GCW Presents ‘Josh Barnett’s BloodSport III’ over WrestleMania weekend.

It was announced that Chris Dickinson will take on legendary New Japan Pro Wrestling star Minoru Suzuki at The Cuban Club in Tampa, Florida on April 2nd.

This will be Suzuki’s third BloodSport, replacing Low Ki at Matt Riddle’s BloodSport in 2018 and then going a time limit draw with Josh Barnett’s BloodSport I in 2019.

Dickinson also has been a part of BloodSport, filling in for the injured Jon Moxley at BloodSport II, against Josh Barnett.

LOW KI VS KING MO ANNOUNCED FOR FIGHTLAND

It was announced today that King Mo will take on Low Ki at the MLW: FIGHTLAND tapings on February 1st.

This will be Mo’s toughest test since joining Major League Wrestling, with Low Ki being a former, and the longest-reigning MLW Champion in history.
