CODY RHODES HEALTH UPDATE

Following his hard-hitting AEW Title match with Chris Jericho last night at Full Gear, All Elite Wrestling have given an injury report on the challenger.

They tweeted a photo of Cody being stitched up with the caption “8 stitches and a costochondral separation. He is not cleared for in-ring action at this time.”

He was cut open after hitting his head off the ramp following a dive to the outside. A Costochondral separation is also known as a rib separation, usually occurs after a direct impact to the chest. The typical time to heal up is three to four weeks.

Cody’s mother, a former ER nurse, stitched up Cody after his match.

SEVERAL MATCHES MADE FOR THIS WEEKS AEW DYNAMITE

AEW has announced two matches for this week’s episode of Dynamite.

AEW World Champion Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara will challenge SCU (Scorpio Sky & Frankie Kazarian) for the AEW Tag Team titles on Dynamite this Wednesday.

In addition, Hangman Page and PAC will also face off for their rubber match in All Elite Wrestling.

MATT SYDAL LEAVES EVOLVE SHOW MID-MATCH

Matt Sydal walked out of his match at Evolve 139 last night, because of an undisclosed injury.

Confusion reigned at Matt Sydal, who was set to be reprising his Evan bourne character with the company, walked out only a few minutes into his match with Leon Ruff.

Michael Levy tweeted that Leon Ruff hit Sydal the wrong way with a move. Sydal then got up, rolled out of the ring, and went in the back. The referee followed him and deemed that he couldn’t continue.

Evolve founder Gabe Sapolsky then tweeted Sydal was receiving treatment after he left his match minutes in.

NJPW SHOWDOWN IN SAN JOSE RESULTS

New Japan Pro Wrestling held ‘ Showdown’ at the San Jose Civic Auditorium in San Jose, California. Here is what went down:

JAY LETHAL INJURY UPDATE

Two weeks ago on the ROH Honor United tour in Bolton, England, Jay Lethal broke his arm during a match against PCO when his arm took the brunt of a high-impact move.

Kevin Eck is reporting that Lethal will be ready for Final Battle on December 13 in Baltimore, Maryland where will team up with Jonathan Gresham to take on the ROH World Tag Team Champions The Briscoes.

R.I.P MATT TRAVIS

TWM is sad to report that New York City based independent wrestling Matt Travis has passed away. According to PWInsider, he passed away earlier today after a traffic accident.

Travis wrestled for both House of Glory and Gamechanger Wrestling.

His trainer Amazing Red led the condolences, saying “I just can’t. I don’t understand life sometimes. I’m gonna try and pull it together for you today. I just want to see you! Talk to you! I’m sorry. I love you Matty.”

Santana also dedicated his match last night at Full Gear for Matt Travis.
