MISSED ALL THE BIG NEWS IN WRESTLING? DO NOT FEAR WE WILL COVER ALL THE BIG STORIES IN ONE PLACE; THIS IS THE WRESTLING NEWS UPDATE!
BAYLEY TO FACE NIKKI CROSS ON RAW
Earlier today, WWE announced that SmackDown Women’s Champion, Bayley would be facing Nikki Cross on the next episode of RAW.
Although the title won’t be on the line, WWE did mention that Alexa Bliss would be in Cross’ corner.
Last week, Bayley, Alexa and Charlotte Flair all took part in Alexa’s moment of Bliss segment. During the talk-show, Charlotte told Bayley that Charlotte was the face of SmackDown, Bayley retorted that being that champion proved that she was the best and Bayley holding the belt was eating Charlotte up inside. Charlotte challenged Bayley to a match at Clash of Champion which was duly accepted.
FINN BALOR APPARANTLY GETS MARRIED
Finn Balor appears to have got hitched during his time away from the WWE. Balor posted an image to Instagram earlier today of himself and partner Veronica Rodriguez with the caption “Welcome to the jungle. #ForeverGang”
It is the hashtag that is causing the commotion. Becky Lynch, when announcing her engagement to Seth Rollins earlier in the week expressed the same sentiment.
As reported, Balor recently asked for some time off from WWE, it was reported that the star asked for two months, but was told that he could have as long as he needed. Speculation is that part of the reason for his request may have been taking care of the personal matter of getting married.
THE ROCK RETURNS TO THE TOP OF THE HIGHEST PAID ACTORS LIST
After missing out last year to George Clooney (who cheated by selling his tequila company for $1 billion), The Rock has claimed the honour of being the highest-paid person in Hollywood in 2019.
Interestingly, The Rock made $89.4 million, down from $124 million in 2018. One of the reasons for Rock’s astronomical pay is the way he does business. He gets paid up to $23.5 million upfront for a film, combined with up to 15% of the pool from high-grossing movie franchises. It was also revealed that he receives $700,000 per episode of HBO’s ‘Ballers’ and seven figures a year from his deal with Under Armour.
REY FENIX ESCAPES INJURY AT BIG TIME WRESTLING
At last night’s Big Time Wrestling event in Pawtucket Rey Fenix seemingly escaped serious injury in a tag match with Pentagon Jr.
The match was Fenix and Pentagon Jr. Vs. Juventud Guerrera and Teddy Hart. In the match, Fenix hit a dropkick on Teddy Hart, then went to pick up Guerrera when his leg gave way. With the star in obvious pain, he rolled out of the ring and signalled for help from the back.
While there was instant speculation about a possible broken leg, this was quickly dismissed with Taya Valkyrie Tweeting shortly after
Just spoke to Fenix and he is going to be ok. Thank god 🙏🏻 No break thank god

While it isn’t known what caused Rey to exit the match so abruptly, Big Time Wrestling has happily posted that his leg was never “anything close” to broken:
1. Scott Steiner is the new heavyweight champion, having won it in front of 1600+ in Pawtucket.
2. We are happy to announce Rey Fenix will be WRESTLING as schedule tonight in Enfield, CT.
3. He never had a broken leg or anything close to it.
4. Wrestling “reporters” should report on our great shows, high attendance, and fan experience rather than waiting for a story and reporting it with absolutely no verification.
See you in Enfield and as always thank you to our fans for the continued support!

Ken Shamrock is returning to Impact after fifteen years away from the promotion.
TNA’s inaugural champion confirmed on Twitter late yesterday that he was involved with the company once again. Ken is scheduled to be at Impacts two nights of TV tapings on September 5th and 6th. At present, it isn’t known if he’ll be working both nights or even if he’ll be wrestling at all.
Ken has been active on social media recently, seeming to build an angle between himself and fan favourite Moose. A number of people have speculated that this could well all be building to a match between the two heavyweights at Bound for Glory, due to be held in October.
