The WWE universe has long asked the question of just when will Sasha Banks return to our screens.
We last saw her on WWE way back at Wrestlemania 35, when she and Bayley were defeated by the IIconics for the Women’s Tag Team Championships.
There was a lot of controversy surrounding the backstage politics of their loss, and the pairs reported disgruntlement as a result. Despite this, Sasha Banks has proven herself over the past few years to be a dominant figure on the roster, and there have therefore been many speculations as to who she will be feuding with when she returns. I have narrowed down 5 options for who we’d love to see her fight with:
1. Nikki Cross
Nikki Cross has shown herself to be an entertaining, yet fierce upcoming face on the roster. Many were worried about what she would be like when she first moved to the main roster and disbanded from Sanity- however, she has proven herself to be someone to watch out for. Her crazy persona would be such a great crossover with Sasha “boss” persona and I really think they could have some great heat on each other. This would be a wildcard choice, but both have many years of experience and would be different from what we’ve been delivered in the last few months.
2. Alexa Bliss
For several years now, there have been many rumours about the real-life backstage heat that Alexa has with Sasha, and although there’s not much concrete evidence that this is true – there must be something to it. Gossip aside though, Alexa and Sasha both have great characters and are both future legends material. Both have got the mic skills and the movesets that really compliment each other, and it would be fun to see another run of these two on a 1 on 1 basis.
This would be a very typical WWE move, and this would be also the easiest storyline for the WWE writers to create, but Sasha returning, turning heel on Bayley, and then have a several month-long feud would be great exposure for the pair. We can’t forget what both are capable of. One of NXT’s best matches of all time was between Sasha and Bayley! They could base this feud on how they lost the tag team championships and Sasha could blame Bayley for “everything going horribly since”. It sounds safe, but there’s so much potential in this.
4. Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair is arguably one of the best wrestlers in WWE at the moment- period, and although Sasha and Charlotte have had several matches over the years, there’s no denying that their matches were brilliant. For a returning feud, Charlotte would certainly be a great safe pick in regards to guaranteeing the pair decent matches.
5. Becky Lynch
Since Sasha Banks’ disappearance from wrestling, Becky Lynch has been making leaps and bounds in regards to bringing the industry mainstream, as well as deliver amazing matches and promos. Becky and Sasha have had many years of history, and it would be great to put them against each other and see how far they’ve come since their Four Horsewoman days.
Obviously, Sasha would need to be a heel for this, but Sasha is a great heel, so this would work perfectly!
