The final IMPACT on the road to Bound for Glory brought drama and renewed old rivalries, rivals became tag team partners and the number twenty spot in the call your shot gauntlet was filled. Who came out on top on the final exit on the road to Bound for Glory?
After the opening titles we jumped straight into the opening match of the night, in which the winner would enter the call your shot gauntlet at number twenty and the loser would be in the number one spot putting them at an immediate disadvantage.
Hernandez def. Rhino, Alisha, Heath and Cousin Jake:
The fired-up Alisha Edwards set out to prove to her opponents that they needed to take her seriously as she got in the face of everyone. After stepping up to big Super-Mex Hernandez he laughed in her face and lifted her up, sitting her on the top rope. Once Lish was out of the way the other four participants went straight for each other, Rhino and Jake would spill to the outside leaving the other three in the ring. The majority of the match was spent on the outside of the ring, Hernandez, Rhino and Lish would find themselves back in the ring and as Rhino charged at Hernandez in an attempt to deliver the Gore, Super-Mex side stepped leaving Lish to take the full force. As Rhino stood in shock Hernandez took advantage and rolled up Rhino for the victory, meaning Hernandez took the number twenty spot and Rhino is given the number one in the call your shot gauntlet at Bound for Glory this Saturday.
We were then given a quick recap of the rivalry between EC3 and Moose before going to a sit down interview with Moose who spoke with Jimmy Jacobs, but Moose clearly wasn’t himself and within a matter of minutes Moose snaps at Jacobs and walks off the set, Jimmy sat there visibly surprised by the antics of Moose. But before we go back to the ring three hooded men kidnap Jacobs and put him in the back of a car.
Returning from break, we see a very frustrated John E. Bravo as he tries to get everything right at his wedding rehearsal. But Fallah Bahh didn’t book the venue in time for the rehearsal, Taya Valkyrie walks in just as Bravo is yelling at everyone in the room and she is confused as to why Bravo is being so mean, Bravo eventually storms off due to the stress of the situation.
We cut to a video of knockout champion Deonna Purrazzo who is telling us all that she knows what it means to be defending the knockouts championship at Bound for Glory. She also tells us that she will make sure she defeats Kylie Rae and leaves Bound for Glory as champion.
Rosemary def. Havok:
The unique stipulation of this match was that should Rosemary defeat Havok then the Death machine will have to help Rosemary resurrect Father James Mitchell so he can officiate her marriage to John E. Bravo. That’s exactly what happened, despite Havok putting up a huge fight it wouldn’t be enough to put the Demon assassin away, but it would take two spears for Rosemary to finish Havok. Meaning that now, Havok must accompany Rosemary to the undead realm and bring back Father James.
This time Kylie Rae has her say about how she feels about her upcoming match for the Knockouts championship at Bound for Glory. She says that she wants to inspire every little girl who will be watching Bound for Glory and tells us that despite what Deonna may think this match will not be about revenge for Susie.
We then go to an unknown location as Jimmy Jacobs is being led into a building and is forced onto a chair, EC3 then appears and sits next to Jimmy. He tells everyone that he is here to control his own narrative and to put an end to the legacy of the TNA world championship and at the same time free Moose.
Sami Callihan def. Eddie Edwards:
Callihan did not wait for the bell and immediately jumped on Eddie Edwards as the two add another chapter to one of the most brutal rivalries in Impact History. Callihan would seem to turn his attention to the already weakened leg of Edwards, but Sami wouldn’t be able to do too much damage. However, as Edwards would set up for the Boston knee party Callihan would get his phone and turn out the lights, as they came back up a very angry Ken Shamrock appeared on the ring apron. As Edwards became distracted Sami would roll him up and come away with the victory, but as Sami and Shamrock celebrated Eddie would deliver a shot to the back of Callihan. He wouldn’t be able to get any payback as Shamrock would lock him in the Ankle lock.
Willie Mack, TJP and Trey def. Rohit Raju, Chris Bey and Jordynne Grace:
A preview of sorts to the upcoming scramble for the X division title match at Bound for Glory, the six competitors in that match attempted to put their rivalries aside to pick up the win for their team just before the biggest event of the year. For the majority of the bout both teams managed to work together and get in some strong offence, but after some inevitable miscommunication Chris Bey would snap at the X division champion Rohit Raju and after delivering a hard upper cut and a stunner, Trey would make the most of the opportunity by putting Bey down and covered Raju to pick up a big win.
Then as promised, Gia Miller sits down with the Impact World Champion Eric Young. He reminds us once again that everything he has done since his return is not his fault. He promises the world that he will hurt Rich Swann at Bound for Glory. Swann had obviously heard enough as he barges in and takes the fight to Young, the two brawl outside the building before they crash into a cameraman and we cut straight to the main event.
The North Vs Good Brothers (No Contest):
A match that a lot of people have been wanting to see for quite a long time didn’t end the way everyone had intended. Both teams make the most of every chance they get in this match up, but it seems nobody could really gain the upper hand. The Good Brothers find a small gap in the offence of The North and get Page in position for the magic killer. But Alexander quickly puts a stop to that, the match breaks down with both teams brawling in the ring the official calls a stop to the match ruling it a no contest. As both teams continue to brawl the other teams involved in the match at Bound for Glory can’t help but get involved. But they soon lean their lesson especially the tag team champions as Chris Sabin is met with a magic killer from the Good Brothers.
The last stop on the road to Bound for Glory ends with the World tag team champions laying and a couple of Good Brothers standing tall, Bound for Glory is this Saturday October 24 live on Fite TV and Premier Sports in the UK. Who will be standing tall on the next episode of Impact Wrestling?
