JINDER MAHAL UNDERGOES KNEE SURGERY

Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal is back out of action after undergoing another surgery on his knee.

Mahal took to Instagram to tell everyone about the procedure to fix some knee issues, saying;

“Unfortunately I had to go under the knife again to fix some knee issues. The journey has hit a speed bump, but I will be back stronger than ever.”

Mahal didn’t the extent of his injury or how long he will be out for. Mahal underwent knee surgery in June 2019 to repair a ruptured patellar tendon, returning on April 27th on RAW, beating Akira Tozawa.

ADAM COLE’S CONTRACT REPORTEDLY EXPIRING IN AUGUST

Multiple sources are stating that Adam Cole’s contract expires this August, and he is yet to sign a new deal.

The current NXT Champion has sparked rumours that he could be leaving to join his former Bullet Club members in All Elite Wrestling, with Britt Baker fuelling those rumours by saying that she hopes that “Adam Cole can be in the ring with The Young Bucks and Kenny and Cody” again on an episode of AEW Unrestricted.

Cole is set to face Velveteen Dream in a Backlot Brawl at this weekend’s ‘TakeOver: In Your House’ event.

WWE TO ADJOURN ANNUAL MEETING FOR THIRD TIME

World Wrestling Entertainment have again will adjourn their Annual Meeting for a third time due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

WWE first announced back in April that the 2020 Annual Stockholders Meeting would convene and immediately adjourn on Thursday, April 16th but was then adjourned again in May.

The meeting is now scheduled for Thursday, July 9th due to the COVID-19 order issued by Connecticut Governor Lamont but WWE noted that the July meeting may need to be adjourned to a later date.

BRYAN AND STYLES FACE-TO-FACE SET FOR SMACKDOWN

Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles will take part in a face-to-face confrontation on tonight’s SmackDown.

The pair will meet in the finals of WWE’s Intercontinental title tournament next Friday, after AJ Styles advanced via forfeit due to Elias’ injury and Bryan defeated Sheamus, replacing an arrested Jeff Hardy following the incident that opened last week’s episode.

Also on tonight’s show, Jeff Hardy will air ‘his side of the story’ from last week, Bayley & Sasha Banks will also challenge for Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross’ Women’s Tag Team titles and The Miz and John Morrison will have ‘a warning’ for Universal Champion Braun Strowman.

AEW MOVES NEWARK SHOW TO FEBRUARY 2021

All Elite Wrestling have announced that they will not be heading to Newark, New Jersey this year after an email went out to ticket holders Thursday that Dynamite will instead debut at the Prudential Center on Wednesday, February 24th, 2021, instead.

The show was originally scheduled for March 25th and was to be headlined by their first Blood & Guts match, but due to COVID-19, the show was postponed.  It sold 10,000 tickets less than a week after it went on sale.

In addition, the show in Rochester, New York has been moved from July 8th to November 11th.

NJPW ANNOUNCES PRESS CONFERENCE FOR JUNE 9TH

 New Japan Pro Wrestling announced this morning on social media that they will be holding an online press conference regarding future NJPW events.

It will take place on Tuesday June 9th, 4AM BST/12PM JST on NJPW World. NJPW President Harold Meij previously detailed a roadmap that would eventually lead to the return of live events. He said that they would only consider running shows until Japan lifts its country-wide state of emergency, the number of new infections decline, and when matches can take place in disinfected and safe settings.

The emergency declaration was lifted for all parts of the country on May 25th.

IMPACT TO ANNOUNCE STATUS OF WORLD TITLE NEXT WEEK

Impact Wrestling has revealed that there will be an announcement regarding the future of their World title this coming Tuesday.

The current World Champion is Tessa Blanchard, but she has not appeared at either of the companies latest closed-set tapings. Fellow IMPACT star Joey Ryan has said Blanchard has not been able to appear due to travel restrictions in regards to COVID-19.

Ace Austin recently just won a number one contendership tournament this past week, and Moose has been calling himself the TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

TONI STORM AND JUICE ROBINSON CONFIRM RELATIONSHIP

NXT UK Superstar Toni Storm has confirmed on social media that she is now dating New Japan talent Juice Robinson.

A photo that appeared on Storm’s Instagram a few weeks ago fueled speculation that the two were together, but photos posted this week shows that two are very much an item.

MARK HASKINS FINED BY MARYLAND ATHLETIC COMMISSION

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Mark Haskins has been fined by the Maryland State Athletic Commission for bleeding in a recent match against Bully Ray.

Haskins was given a $4,000 fine for allowing himself to be lifted and thrown into the table with the barbed wire board and suffering lacerations in several areas,” which goes against Maryland’s no-blood policy.

The incident happened when Mark Haskins faced Bully Ray at ROH Final Battle 2019 from the UMBC Event Centre in Baltimore, Maryland.

Haskins had to pay $2,000 by the end of March and another $2,000 by the end of February 2021.

BOBBY FULTON NOW CANCER FREE

In some happy news, wrestling legend Bobby Fulton has announced that he is now cancer-free.

Fulton was diagnosed with throat cancer in December 2019, and began chemotherapy in January. On June 2nd, he revealed that most of his cancer was gone but he still had a small tumor and three days later, he delivered the good news via Twitter.

As one half of The Fantastics, Fulton is a former NWA United States Tag Team Champion, World Class World Tag Team Champion, and AWA Southern Tag Team Champion.
