John Morrison Returning To WWE

WWE confirms John Morrison will be returning with the company.

Former Intercontinental Champion’s return announced on Backstage

One of the worst kept secrets in wrestling, WWE have finally confirmed that John Morrison is returning to the company.

The official announcement of Morrison’s return was made on tonight’s episode of WWE Backstage. WWE.com noted that the contract Morrison signed is a multi-year deal.

Morrison confirmed the news on Twitter, saying:

“Confirmed. I have signed with @WWE – I’ve never been as good at anything as I am at wrestling & I can’t wait to stand again in a #WWE ring opposite the most talented people in the business”

Ryan Satin also revealed that creative ideas for Morrison’s return are still being worked on and it isn’t clear when Morrison will make his first appearance or which brand he’ll be on.

Rumours of Morrison’s return were broken earlier this year by PWInsider in September, with their report also being confirmed by Dave Meltzer.

Morrison was a multi-time Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion before his departure from WWE in 2011. He then wrestled for Lucha Underground and Impact Wrestling, before departing the latter after Slammiversary XVII this July, when he lost the Impact World Title to Brian Cage.
