Jon Moxley Confirmed For Bloodsport III | Wrestling News Update, January 14th 2020

LADDER MATCH FOR US TITLE ON RAW NEXT WEEK

Rey Mysterio will compete for the United States title in a ladder match on next week’s episode of RAW. Rey and current champion, Andrede, have been going back and forth over recent weeks. The feud seemingly came to a head on last week’s show, with Andrede removing Rey’s mask following a successful defence of his title.

NEXT WEEKS RAW TAKES SHAPE

Alongside the US title match, WWE has announced another match on next Monday’s edition of RAW.

The mixed tag match, witch will feature Bobby Lashley and Lana teaming up to take on Rusev and Liv Morgan.

The almost imfamous angle between Bobby Lashley, Lana, Rusev, and Liv Morgan continues to rumble on. On this week’s episode, Lashley managed to beat Rusev in singles action after Rusev was distracted by Liv Morgan and Lana on the outside.

WWE have also announced that Brock Lesnar will on next week’s RAW, making it two in a row. On this week’s episode, Brock took out R-Truth after Truth got confused on who was entering the match.

TABLES MATCH ANNOUNCED FOR THIS WEEK’S SMACKDOWN

Roman Reigns will meet Robert Roode in a tables match on this week’s SmackDown. On last week’s episode Roode returned to the WWE following a thirty day suspention for a wellness policy violation.

On his return Roode helped Dolph Ziggler take out Reigns, delivering a spinebuster onto the announce table. The announcetable failed to break, leaving Dolph to drop an elbow, finally breaking the table.

UPDATED ROYAL RUMBLE LISTS

Following last night’s episode of RAW there are 17 confirmed enterants into this year’s men’s Royal Rumble match.

So far the following four stars have been announced for the women’s Royal Rumble match:

  • Alexa Bliss
  • Nikki Cross

WWE TRADEMARKS TOP WRESTLERS NAMES

Earlier this month WWE filed for trademarks on a number of their top stars name’s. The stars appear on all three promotions, and seemingly from all levels of current popularity. The stars are:

  • The Usos
  • Kayden Carter
  • Lio Rush
  • AOP
  • Mojo Rawley
  • Bobby Lashley

The trademark filed was as follows:

JON MOXLEY TO FACE JOSH BARNETT AT THE NEXT BLOODSPORT

During WrestleMania weekend, former UFC heavyweight champion, Josh Barnett, will meet Jon Moxley at Bloodsport III.

This is the second time the match has been booked, with it falling through last year due to Jon’s MRSA infection in September. When it was apparent that the first booking wouldn’t be taking place, both parties promised to try to rebook the contest.

Bloodsport is an event modeled much more after MMA than traditional pro wrestling, the rings have no ropes, and contests can only be won via knockout or submission.

HUGE MATCH ADDED TO MLW FIGHTLAND

MLW has announced that Jimmy Havoc will be facing Brian Pillman Jr. at their upcoming Fightland event.

The show will be hald on the first of February, at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. This will be the first time the two have met inside a ring. MLW have said that the result of the match will have implications for the middleweight division going forward.

SHINGO TAKAGI ANNOUNCED FOR WRESTLECON SUPERSHOW

Japaneese wrestling legend, Shingo Takagi has been confirmed for this year’s WrestleCon Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow.

He is the second NJPW star to confirm for the show, and this will be his first WrestleCon. The other NJPW star announced is WIll Ospreay, also announced incude:

MLW SIGNS WITH ICM AS THEY LOOK FOR A BROADCAST DEAL

Deadline.com has reported that MLW has teamed up with Hollywood agency ICM as they look to expand, gaining a television and streaming deal in early 2020.

If the story turns out to be true, then MLW have major backing going forward, it is hoped that this will help them when negotating a cheaper deal.
