NJPW: Jon Moxley Vacates IWGP United States Championship

Moxley unable to travel to Japan due to Typhoon Hagibis

All Elite Wrestling’s Jon Moxley has been forced to vacate the IWGP United States Title due to travel delays causing him to be unable to appear at Ryogoku Sumo Hall for King of Pro Wrestling.

Typhoon Hagibis has battered Japan this weekend, causing several deaths and untold destruction. It has also led to several Rugby World Cup matches to be cancelled and an amended Japanese Grand Prix in Formula One.

In place of the scheduled Jon Moxley versus Juice Robinson No Disqualification match tonight for the United States Championship, Robinson will now face Lance Archer will for the now vacant title.

Jon Moxley won the IWGP United States Championship in his debut, beating Juice Robinson at ‘Best of the Super Jr. 26: Final’ on June 5th. Moxley also wrestled in this years G1 Climax 29, winning 10 points.

Zack Sabre Jr. is also unable to appear due to the same travel issues.
