Hosted by WWE legend William Regal, Mattel hosted a WWE NXT superstar panel at San Diego Comic Con. Unveiling new lines and ranges into Mattel’s vast array of WWE action figures, we saw superstars get action figures for the very first time and established superstars and legends get some brand new models.
WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins also delivered a video message to fans in attendance in which he apologised for not being able to make it due to filming a commercial for WWE2K16, but said that he’s looking forward to being there next time.
Proceedings got underway when Mattel began to unveil the new ranges of WWE action figures starting with:
Tyson Kidd, Xavier Woods (New Day attire), Hideo Itami (first time), Sting and Charlotte (first time).
WWE Battle Packs
The Ascension (first time), J&J Security (first time), The Bella Twins and a Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins pack.
WWE Elite Figures
The Miz, Dean Malenko (first time), Stephanie McMahon (SummerSlam 2014), Adam Rose, Macho Man Randy Savage and The APA (first time).
There were also some “work in progress” figures that were previewed, due for release in 2016:
Bayley (first time), Sheamus, The Undertaker (WrestleMania 31), Kalisto (first time) and Kevin Owens (first time).
WWE Elite Figures
The British Bulldog, The Godfather (first time), Finn Balor (first time) which includes painted and un-painted models and Sami Zayn.
Also announced was a new figure to the “Defining Moments” range which will include The Undertaker (Ministry 1999 attire), Hollywood Hulk Hogan and Surfer Sting.
There was also a Q&A session with NXT superstars Kevin Owens, Charlotte, Sami Zayn and Finn Balor which included questions from William Regal and the audience.
