CHARLOTTE REVEALS LENGTH OF ABSENCE
After news broke earlier this week that Charlotte Flair would be off TV for a while, rumours swirled that she could be off until the Royal Rumble.
Thankfully this has been cleared up by Charlotte herself, speaking on Sport Hiatus, Charlotte said she only be away a few weeks.
I’ll only be gone for a few weeks. They can still play things on the WWE Network but utilizing my social media will be most important while I’m gone.
She confirmed that she would be having some time away, as well as undergoing surgery, but she’d be gone such a short time, WWE would be working to keep her relevant with the fans.
With WWE, there are so many things that I’m part of. I’m part of an organization called ‘Girl Up’ where I’m able to stream live from my social media—no one is going to miss me. They’re still going to feel like I’m there is basically what I’m saying. I’m gone but I’m not really gone.
WWE ANNOUNCE ‘THE GREAT AMERICAN BASH’
— WWE NXT (@WWENXT) June 25, 2020
Announced during last night’s episode of NXT, WWE will be holding a version of The Great American Bash on NXT over the next two weeks.
The event was last held in 2012, before that it was held three times, 1985, 86, and 87, all for Jim Crockett Promotions. Ric Flair attributed the creation of the event to Dusty Rhodes in his book ‘To Be the Man’.
This year’s event will be spread across the next two episodes of NXT, at exactly the same time as AEW is holding Fyter Fest.
The Great American Bash will see a number of pay per view quality matches. Next week Dexter Lumis and Roderick Strong will compete in NXT’s first strap match, alongside a women’s fatal four-way match. In the women’s match, Mia Yim, Tegan Nox, Candice Le Ray and Dakota Kai will fight over the right to call themselves the number one contender to Io Shirai’s title. The third match announced for next week Rhea Ripley will face Aliyah and Robert Stone in a handicap match, with the added stipulation that if she loses, she joins the Robert Stone Brand.

The ratings for this week are in, and for only the third time this year, NXT has drawn a higher average than AEW.
NXT averaged 786,000 viewers, while AEW managed 633,000. AEW has seen its lead over NXT dwindle from over 400,000 to trailing by 150,000.
NXT won three different demographics, but AEW held on to a narrow lead in the all import 18-49 group.
