NJPW Power Struggle 2017 Results: Jericho vs Omega Announced for WrestleKingdom 12

WE HAD NEW CHAMPIONS, TOURNAMENT WINNERS, DRAMATIC RETURNS AND THE TABLE SET FOR WRESTLEKINGDOM 12 BUT IT WAS ONE ANNOUNCEMENT THAT SHOOK THE WRESTLING WORLD TO IT’S VERY CORE.

Following a successful defense of his IWGP United States Championship against Barreta, Kenny Omega said there was no one left to challenge him. Then, a video aired with Chris Jericho challenging to a match at WrestleKingdom 12 in 2018. If January 4th wasn’t a must-watch event now, it is now.

We also had the return of Jay White, revealed as the man behind the ‘Switchblade’ vignettes that have been on the last few New Japan events. He then attacked Hiroshi Tanahashi following his defense of the IWGP Intercontinental Title against Kota Ibushi and made his intentions clear that he will be the man to face ‘The Ace of New Japan’ for that title at the Tokyo Dome.

We also have a new IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion as Marty Scurll brought the title back to the Bullet Club, beating Will Ospreay. KUSHIDA and Hiromu Takahashi then made their claims to a title shot, so Scurll said he would face them all in a four way match in January at WrestleKingdom.

Sho and Yoh, the team of Roppongi 3k beat Ryusuke Taguchi and ACH to win the Super Junior Tag Tournament, adding to their NJPW Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles. Another match was set for January 4th as The Young Bucks challenged them for the belts.

Minoru Suzuki brutalised Toru Yano in a bullrope match to retain his NEVER Openweight Championship and in the other singles contest, David Finlay defeated Katsuya Kitamura.

Finally in tag team action The Young Bucks beat Dragon Lee and TitanKUSHIDA, Juice Robinson, Jushin Thuder Liger, Tiger Mask IV & Hirai Kawato defeated Zack Sabre Jr., Yoshinobu Kanemaru, El Desperado, Taka Michinoku & Taichi, Satoshi Kojima, Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Togi Makabe defeated Cody, Yujiro Takahashi & Chase Owens and Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii, Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI & Gedo defeated Tetsuya Naito, SANADA, EVIL, Hiromu Takahashi & BUSHI

Also, New Japan announced that will be travelling to the United States again on March 25th, 2018 for Strong Style Evolved in Long Beach, California.
