In a night where two of the biggest wrestling companies join forces, two best friends rejoined forces on day one of ‘Honor Rising’.
In the main event, the reuniting of The Golden Lovers did not end in victory as the team of Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega and Chase Owens fell to the Bullet Club trio of Cody, Hangman Page and Marty Scurll, after Page hit Chase Owens with the Rite Of Passage. The tension between Cody and Kenny continued to heighten, as the two were pulled apart again and then Cody declared that Bullet Club was his.
In our only title match of the evening, Hirooki Goto saw off the monstrous challenge of the Beer City Bruiser to keep his NEVER Openweight Title, following a thunderous GTR.
Flip Gordon had a memorable New Japan Pro Wrestling debut, beating two former Junior Heavyweight Champions in the form of KUSHIDA and Hiromu Takahashi, with Gordon pinning Takahashi with a 450 splash.
We also had a raft of tag team action, with the CHAOS trio of IWGP U.S Champion Jay White, Chuckie T and Beretta beating the trio of ROH Champion Dalton Castle, Jay Lethal and Ryusuke Taguchi, after Jay White dropped Taguchi with Blade Runner. The Young Bucks also tried their head successfully in the heavyweight tag division, polishing off David Finlay. Jr and Juice Robinson with the Meltzer Driver.
The final two matches saw Cheeseburger, Delirious and Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger shock the Bullet Club trio of The Guerrillas of Destiny and Hikuleo. Bullet Club were more successful in two on two action, as Yujiro Takahashi and Bad Luck Fale beat Katsuya Kitamura and Toa Henare.
