Can the Rock N’ Roll Express turn back the clock and win gold once more in the NWA?
We open with a video highlighting all the big stories leading into the season finale.
Joe Galli is in the studio to run down the card and preview the two big matches on tonight’s show.
Before, our first scheduled match between Colt Cabana and Ricky Starks, Aron Stevens and The Question Mark interrupt and Stevens complains that he does not get a title shot. Colt Cabana decides that if Stevens can defeat Starks, he will give him a National Title shot. Stevens accepts and gives The Question Mark the night out, much to the crowds annoyance.
Aron Stevens defeated Ricky Starks via pinfall.
Aron Stevens took early control, using his scarf to throw Ricky Starks around. Starks quickly fights back a slingblade and a spear for a near fall. Stevens then goes down with a knee injury and as the ref is distracted, The Question Mark hits the Mongrovian Spike to give Stevens the win.
Joe Galli then talks about the main event at Into The Fire, where during the two out of three falls match both Nick Aldis and James Storm will pick a referee for the first two falls, and a third fall referee will be decided by a coin toss.
James Storm then cuts a promo, saying there’s a conspiracy against himself in the NWA. He airs several unaired segments, saying that his wins have been swept under the rug. James Storm picks the NWA head officer Brian Hebner and says he better not screw up.
We see a video package The Question Mark walking around a meet and greet.
We also get footage from WrestleCade this past weekend where The Great Muta and Nick Aldis stared down in front of the NWA Heavyweight Title.
David Marquez introduces Melina to ringside. Melina talks about bringing out the best in people, and how there is so much more to learn because that is what a champion does. She says NWA Women’s Champion Allysin Kay needs to work harder. Kay interrupts and threatens to smack her face and says she is afraid to fight her own battles, challenging her to a fight right now. Melina teases getting into the ring, but Kay is attacked and beat down Marti Belle and Thunder Rosa.
Kyle Davis interviews The Rock N’ Roll Express. They talk about their title shot, old school wrestling and winning the gold.
NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis talks about James Storms and his ‘conspiracy’. Aldis says ‘we ain’t in TNA anymore’ and says he is the middle of the pack and made everyone bow to his needs. Nick Aldis says he made the call to face James Storm at Into The Fire, and will make him regret his decisions. He says his referee for the title match will be Tim Storm. He is asked about Kamille again, and says that he will give Kamille the night off in his title match.
NWA World Tag Team Titles: The Rock N Roll Express defeated Champions The Wildcards (Thomas Latimer & Royce Isaacs) via pinfall to win the titles.
Thomas Latimer had the better of Ricky Morton early on, but then the Rock N’ Roll Express took control using their experience. Isaacs powered out of a full nelson and the champions began working over Robert Gibson, especially the shoulder after he hit the ringpost on a missed shoulder charge. Gibson got the tag to Morton who ran wild (shocking I know) and the veterans nearly got the win on the double dropkick. However, following a miscue, Ricky Morton rolled up Royce Isaacs to pick up the upset.
Jim Cornette celebrates with the team and Joe Galli acknowledges the departure of Jim Cornette, giving thanks to Cornette for all of his work with the NWA.
Joe Galli announces an NWA World Tag Title rematch between The Rock ‘N Roll Express and The Wildcards, and a triple threat match between Aron Stevens, Ricky Starks and Champion Colt Cabana for his NWA National Title.
Nick Aldis announces that Stu Bennett is replacing Jim Cornette on the NWA announce team.
