Jordan Devlin returns to NXT UK to defend his NXT Cruiserweight Championship in tonight’s main event.
Imperium (Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel) defeated Oliver Carter & Ashton Smith via pinfall
Aichner pinned Carter after Barthel hit a diving European Uppercut from the middle rope. Carter and Smith are now being treated as a real tag team. They used a lot of tandem offence during this match and were an efficient team.
Moustache Mountain addressed the 20-man battle royal next week. They wished each other good luck. “May the best man win”, said Trent Seven.
Oliver Carter and Ashton Smith were to be interviewed backstage after their match, but NXT UK newbies Pretty Deadly interfered before backing off.
Aoife Valkyrie defeated Nina Samuels via pinfall
Valkyrie caught Samuels with the diving axe kick for the win. She remains undefeated in NXT UK.
Piper Niven was interviewed by Josiah Williams. He asked why she came to the aid of Dani Luna last week. She said that as strong as Luna is, Niven will not let Kay Lee Ray get away with what she did. Niven and Luna will take on Kay Lee Ray and Jinny in tag team action next week.
Flash Morgan Webster provided an update on Mark Andrews after last week’s attack. He said that his condition is still largely unknown, but he promised to win the battle royal next week in his tag team partner’s honour.
Noam Dar defeated A-Kid via pinfall
Dar got the win by following up a low-blow with a Nova Roller running Enziguri. This was a good mat-based match that played to the strengths of both performers. After the match, Dar had some confident words to say ahead of next week’s battle royal.
NXT Cruiserweight Championship: Jordan Devlin defeated Travis Banks via pinfall
Devlin rolled Banks up and held on to the ropes to retain his title. He had his swollen elbow taped up to avoid further injury, and he wrestled as such by evading Banks’ offence. Banks hit a vicious suicide dive that saw him collide head-first with the barricade. Devlin removed his kneepads to knee Banks in the face before Banks fired back. The match was good, but I wouldn’t say it was the best of their series. The second before the show faded to black, Devlin could be heard screaming WALTER’s name as all eyes turn to next week’s #1 contenders battle royal.
