NXT UK Results – March 5, 2020

WALTER defends his newly-minted NXT UK Championship in tonight’s main event.

Alexander Wolfe defeated Travis Banks via pinfall

Banks and Wolfe went straight at each other after the bell rang. The action quickly spilled to the outside and Banks hit a vicious outside dive. Back in the ring, Wolfe controlled the majority of the match before Banks regained momentum with a plethora of running and aerial offence. Wolfe eventually got the win with a sit-out powerbomb.

This was a good match but it was hurt by the York crowd being deadly quiet.

Eddie Dennis did a pre-recorded piece to camera where as a former teacher, he highlighted the similarities between the classroom and the ring. Dennis focused on the mental aspect of wrestling.

Ridge Holland defeated Saxon Huxley via pinfall

Holland hit Huxley with an Alabama Slam for the win. This was a short match but an excellent display of power on his part.

Jordan Devlin cut a promo from Full Sail University in Orlando where he said that “The Ace is coming home”, as the NXT Cruiserweight Champion will be returning to NXT UK next week.

Aoife Valkyrie defeated Isla Dawn via pinfall

Valkyrie continues to build momentum as she picks up her second consecutive victory in NXT UK. She won with a single-leg diving leg-drop to the back of the head.

Ligero gave an interview where he addressed Noam Dar’s comments. He promised to shut Dar’s mouth as they face off next week.

NXT UK Championship: WALTER defeated Dave Mastiff via pinfall

WALTER just about managed to lift Mastiff to hit a powerbomb for the win. Mastiff looked good here and we saw WALTER in peril. The champion went for a splash early on, a move he normally uses out of desperation such as when he beat Pete Dunne for the WWE UK Title.

Next week’s episode of NXT UK will be the first to air from the tapings that take place in Coventry this Friday and Saturday. Ligero is set to take on Noam Dar and NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin returns to NXT UK.
