CHANGES TO RAW COMMENTARY TEAM

On this week’s WWE Backstage, Ryan Satin reported that Samoa Joe will stay on the RAW commentary team with Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler. He will remain there until he is cleared to action.

He is replacing Dio Maddin, who has “aspirations” of becoming a WWE Superstar and is heading back to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, according to Satin.

CHANGES TO TONIGHT’S NXT CARD

During this morning’s episode of WWE’s The Bump, it was revealed that Damian Priest won’t be facing Killian Dain on NXT tonight due to Priest still recovering from a rib injury that he suffered at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.

WWE has announced that Kushida will return to action on tonight’s NXT. This is his first match since his contest with WALTER on NXT in October. He has been recovering from a broken wrist.

CM PUNK SET TO RETURN TO WWE BACKSTAGE NEXT WEEK

On last night’s Backstage, they announced that CM Punk will be back on the show next week. This will be his second appearance as an analyst since his debut on November 19th.

The Backstage episode with Punk’s official debut averaged 180,000 viewers, which is the best number Backstage has done in its regular time slot.

MATT HARDY AND REBY SKY WELCOME THIRD CHILD

According to PWInsider, Matt and Reby Hardy have reportedly welcomed their third son.

Matt tweeted around 4:45am ET and wrote what presumably are the initials of the new baby boy. He tweeted, “BKH.”

The two already have two sons together, Wolfgang and Maxel.

WWE REMOVING HIDDEN GEMS FROM WWE NETWORK

According to PWInsider, WWE has decided to suspend all plans for the weekly “Hidden Gems” additions on the WWE Network.

They report that while WWE is not currently moving forward with the “Hidden Gems” content, that does not mean that older classic content won’t be used in other ways.

LOW KI REPLACING SHINJIRO OTANI IN MLW OPERA CUP

MLW announced today that Shinjiro Otani has withdrawn from the Opera Cup tournament, replaced by Low Ki. Ki will now face Davey Boy Smith Jr. in the first round.

The Opera Cup is a one-night, eight-man tournament taking place at The Melrose Ballroom in Queens, New York.
