RING OF HONOR CROWNED TWO NEW CHAMPIONS AS THEY SHOWED A PACKED CROWD IN LOWELL, MA WHO TRULY WAS THE ‘BEST IN THE WORLD’.
Cody won his first ever ROH World Championship, toppling the popular ‘Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels in a phenomenal match-up. The end of the show saw the new champ and his Bullet Club teammates celebrating in the ring. This also means that Cody is the first ROH World Championship that is not a permanent roster member since Takeshi Morishima in 2007.
We also crowned new Ring Of Honor Six Man Tag Team Champions as Dalton Castle and The Boys upset Bully Ray and The Briscoes in a wild match-up. Two champions did manage to hold on to their belts, with KUSHIDA besting Marty Scurll to retain the ROH TV Title and The Young Bucks kept the ROH Tag Team Titles in a match that was originally meant to be against War Machine, until Chuck Taylor and Trent Baretta inserted themselves into the situation, making it a three way.
Jay Lethal beat Silas Young in a stiff grudge match that fought all around ringside, only for him to be jumped post match by the Beer City Bruiser (who Lethal had originally taken out with a steel chair) and crushed Jay’s ribs with a beer keg, followed up by The Bruiser frog splashing Lethal from the top rope through a table on the outside.
