STEPHANIE MCMAHON CONFIRMS RONDA ROUSEY RETURN

WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon confirmed the return of former RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey in an interview with Ben Wignall of GiveMeSport.

Stephanie McMahon said;

“Ronda [Rousey] will definitely be back, that is the plan – but, as of now, I’m not sure where and when,”

Rousey has been away from WWE since losing the RAW Women’s Title to Becky Lynch in the WrestleMania 35 main event. Rousey took time off as she and husband Travis Browne wanted to expand their family, which has been covered on Total Divas but Rousey said in an interview with E! Online that they are still trying to get pregnant.

NXT BEATS AEW IN 18-49 DEMO FOR FIRST TIME

NXT ratings rose 2 percent this week, averaging 795,000 viewers on Wednesday night. it beat AEW Dynamite, which dropped 12 percent to just 683,000 viewers overall.

Despite going up against the presidential impeachment hearings, NXT won all demographics this week including the 18-49 demographic. This is the first time NXT has beaten AEW in that category.

The only categories NXT lost out to AEW in were the more specific male 18-49 and also females 12-34.

EDGE RUMOURED TO BE RETURNING TO THE RING IN 2020

One of wrestling’s biggest rumours this year is that of Edge returning to in-ring action.

In October, Edge seemingly denied these reports after it was reported that he was in Pittsburgh for WWE business, which is where WWE’s Dr. Joseph Maroon is based. However, PWInsider are speculating that return to the ring soon for WrestleMania 36 season, perhaps beginning with a surprise appearance at the 2020 Royal Rumble.

This is highly unlikely, and nothing has been confirmed but it was also speculated that we will see The Rated R Superstar work a few matches on major events.

SUNIL SINGH WELCOMES BABY SON

Congratulations to Sunil Singh, who recently welcomed a son named Gurveer Singh Sihra with his wife Ramona.

He announced the happy news on Instagram, saying;

“On December 13th, 2019, my wife and I welcomed our son, Gurveer Singh Sihra into this world. Thank you God for this amazing blessing. (Baby boy needs tassels) #BabyBollywood,”

The post also shows their child was born in Royal Columbian Hospital in British Columbia.

CODY VS ALLIN CONFIRMED FOR NEW YEARS AEW DYNAMITE

A rematch between Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin is scheduled for the January 1st edition of AEW Dynamite.

Cody and Allin saw off the challenge of The Butcher and The Blade and thanks to Allin helping Cody, he gets his rematch with ‘The American Nightmare’.

They first wrestled at Fyter Fest this past June and went to a 20-minute draw.

TWO MATCHES ANNOUNCED FOR CHRISTMAS NXT

NXT’s Boxing Day episode will play host a pair of huge clashes.

NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong has announced an open challenge for next week. A match between Roderick Strong and Austin Theory was last night’s dark match and it was filmed, but this isn’t out of the ordinary.

Also announced was a tag team match between Lio Rush and Keith Lee team up to face Damian Priest and WWE 205 Live Superstar Tony Nese.

NJPW CONFIRM RULES FOR WRESTLEKINGDOM TEXAS DEATHMATCH

New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced the rules for Lance Archer and Jon Moxley’s Texas death match at Wrestle Kingdom 14.

It will be a no disqualification match that can only be won by 10-count knockout or via submission. There will be no pinfalls in the match.

This match will be for the IWGP United States Championship.

IMPACT RELEASE KILLER KROSS

Impact Wrestling announced this afternoon that Killer Kross has been released from the company.

Kross debuted with Impact in June 2018 with the two reportedly in contract talks for a while now with his deal set to expire this month, but Impact had the option to roll-over the contract for 1 more year. At one point, Kross wanted out of the deal.

Kross posted a video to his social media called “Chapter Zero”, including clips from various promotions, such as AEW, WWE and NJPW.

CIMA TO CHALLENGE FOR MLW TITLE

MLW has announced that Jacob Fatu will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against CIMA at Fightland on Saturday, February 1st.

This show will be taking place at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

CIMA made his MLW debut earlier this month, with CIMA’s Strong Hearts stable facing Fatu’s CONTRA Unit group in a six-man tag match at MLW’s Opera Cup tapings.

DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE ANNOUNCES DIVORCE

WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page took to Twitter today to announce that he and wife Brenda Nair are getting divorced.

In his post, he said;

“After considerable thought, much reflection, and mixed emotions, I am sorry to announce that several months ago Brenda and I decided to separate, and after a three month separation we have filed for divorce. While we both love each other, we recognize that we are two strong-willed people who will be happier if we part. As painful as divorce is, we are thankful that no infidelity or other love interests were involved in our decision and we are parting as friends. I want to thank all of you in advance for your support as we move into the next phase of our lives and I ask that you respect our privacy and keep us in your thoughts and prayers,”

DDP and Brenda were married back on July 25th, 2015 in Cancun. He said they are parting as friends.
