THE UNDERTAKER TRAVELLING TO SUPER SHOWDOWN

According to today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, The Undertaker is travelling with WWE to Saudi Arabia for this Thursday’s Super Showdown. This was also reported by John Pollock of Post Wrestling.

Reports have been suggesting that AJ Styles vs The Undertaker is being planned for WrestleMania 36, and with Styles a part of the Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet match at the event, an angle could possibly take place.

REY MYSTERIO REPLACES RUSEV IN SUPER SHOWDOWN GAUNTLET MATCH

Rey Mysterio will now be in the six-man gauntlet match instead of Rusev. He will now be alongside AJ Styles, Andrade, Bobby Lashley, Erick Rowan, and R-Truth in the match for the aforementioned Tuwaiq Trophy.

On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that Rusev isn’t going on the trip to Saudi Arabia with reports suggesting that Rusev is suffering from a back injury.

This match will also see the return on Andrade from a 30-day suspension.

SAMOA JOE SUSPENDED FOR 30 DAYS

EDGE ADVERTISED FOR MARCH 9 RAW

For those wondering when we will see Edge on our television screens again, The Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. has advertised that the Rated R Superstar will appear on the March 9 episode of Raw at the venue.

In a tweet, they said;

“See it LIVE at @WWE RAW on March 9! @EdgeRatedR will be in the house to give a medical update on his condition. Get your tickets now!”

After returning to the ring in last month’s men’s Royal Rumble match, Edge hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since the angle where he was attacked by Orton the night after the Royal Rumble.

SUNNY PAROLED EARLY

After we reported yesterday that WWE Hall of Famer Sunny will be released from prison on Wednesday, March 25, it has now been revealed that she has been paroled early.

She had been in jail since February 23, 2019, after being arrested in Seaside Heights, New Jersey for a DWI, which was her 6th charge for driving under the influence since 2015. Sytch was set to be paroled after her lawyers petitioned for her release at a hearing last week.

NEW JAPAN CUP 2020 BRACKETS ANNOUNCED

This year’s participants for the 2020 New Japan Cup have been revealed.

32 participants will take part in this year’s tournament with the winner of the tournament will challenge Tetsuya Naito for both the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental titles at Sakura Genesis, which takes place on March 31st.

Here are the participants in their first-round match-ups.

March 4th:

  • Togi Makabe vs. Jeff Cobb
  • Tomhiro Ishii vs. Toa Henare
  • Toru Yano vs. Chase Owens
  • Colt Cabana vs. Bad Luck Fale

March 7th:

  • Kazuchika Okada vs. Jay White
  • Yuji Nagata vs. Minoru Suzuki
  • Juice Robinson vs. Alex Coughlin
  • David Finlay vs. Tanga Loa

March 8th:

  • Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Taichi

March 9th:

The opening round starts on March 4th, with the finals taking place on March 21st, with cards airing live on New Japan World with English commentary.

NJPW 48TH ANNIVERSARY CARD ANNOUNCED

The full card has been revealed for New Japan Pro Wrestling’s 48th Anniversary event. The main event will be a special singles exhibition match between Los Ingobernables de Japon members Tetsuya Naito and Hiromu Takahashi, with the stipulation added that is Naito loses, Takahashi becomes the next mandatory challenger for the IWGP World and Intercontinental Titles.

The Anniversary show is taking place at Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo on Tuesday, March 3rd.

ROSE VS STATLANDER CONFIRMED FOR AEW REVOLUTION

AEW has confirmed tonight that Kris Statlander will challenge Nyla Rose for the AEW Women’s championship.

This all stemmed from last week’s Dynamite when Statlander confronted Rose following a promo celebrating her title victory. That was then interrupted by the arrival of Big Swole.

Revolution will take place this Saturday, February 29th at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

TWO ANNOUNCED FOR ROH PURE TITLE TOURNAMENT

Ring of Honor has revealed the first two participants for their Pure title tournament.

ROH first announced legendary British wrestler and former Pure Champion Doug Williams will be a part of the field to crown a new champion. Jonathan Gresham was then announced as the second member of the field.

The Pure Title tournament will begin with first-round matches taking place at Pure Excellence night one in Columbus, Ohio on Friday, April 10th and Pure Excellence night two in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 11th. It will continue with the quarterfinals at ROH Battlestarr 2020 in New York City on Thursday, April 23rd with locations for the semis and finals yet to be announced.

TWO MATCHES ANNOUNCED FOR PROGRESS CHAPTER 104

PROGRESS Wrestling have announced two big matches for their March event, Chapter 104: Jeff Goldblum’s Fly Machine.

Gene Munny will have a chance to prove himself ahead of Super Strong Style 16 as he faces Mark Andrews. Munny and F.S.U had a run-in at Chapter 102 in Cardiff.

In addition, Pretty Deadly will finally get their opportunity for the PROGRESS Tag Team Titles when they face the champions Jordan Devlin and Scotty Davis. Pretty Deadly are currently 5-0 on PROGRESS events.
