UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH MADE FOR BACKLASH

Another title match has been made for this Sunday’s WWE Backlash event as Apollo Crews will defend his United States title against Andrade.

Andrade earned a chance to reclaim his gold on last night’s episode of RAW, where he defeated Angel Garza and Kevin Owens in a triple threat match.

Crews actually defeated Andrade to have his first taste of WWE gold two weeks ago, and being out in kayfabe with a knee injury.

TWO MATCHES ANNOUNCED FOR WEDNESDAY’S NXT EPISODE

A pair of matches have been announced for Wednesday night on WWE NXT.

Following his successful title defence against Velveteen Dream in a Backlot Brawl, NXT Champion Adam Cole will go one-on-one with Dexter Lumis. Lumis did make an appearance during the match at TakeOver: In Your House, kidnapping Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong.

Secondly, Finn Balor will face Cameron Grimes in a rematch. Grimes handed Balor his first defeat of 2020 last month.

JOHN CENA MATCHES BIG BLACK LIVES MATTER DONATION

John Cena showed he was an ally of the Black Lives Matter movement by matching a big cash donation from pop band BTS fans ‘The BTS army’.

He announced on Twitter that he will match the $1,000,000 pledged to the ‘Black Lives Matter’ fund. Variety reports that shortly after K-pop band BTS and Big Hit Entertainment donated $1 million to BLM, their fans, known as the BTS Army, then matched the donation and then even surpassed it within 24 hours.

NJPW TO RETURN TO JUNE 15TH

New Japan Pro Wrestling has confirmed that they are set to return to in-ring action on June 15th, leading to fan-allowed events in July. Click here for the full story.

TIGER MASK OUT WITH COLONIC DIVERTICULITIS

New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced that Tiger Mask will miss their forthcoming events due to colonic diverticulitis.

In a statement on their website, they said;

“Tiger Mask will be absent from forthcoming New Japan Pro-Wrestling events as he recovers from colonic diverticulitis. We apologise to all fans who are looking forward to seeing Tiger Mask perform, and wish him well in his recovery.”

This is the fourth incarnation of Tiger Mask, starting in 1995. We wish Tiger Mask a speedy recovery.

TAG TEAM MATCH MADE FOR WEDNESDAY’S AEW DYNAMITE

On this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, New AEW Women’s champion Hikaru Shida will team with Kris Statlander to take on Nyla Rose and Penelope Ford. 

AEW President Tony Khan announced the match on Twitter. Shida defeated Nyla Rose to win the title in a no disqualification match at AEW Double or Nothing.

MLW SIGNS U.S STREAMING DEAL WITH DAZN

Major League Wrestling has announced that they have signed a deal with the U.S. version of DAZN.

DAZN is a sports streaming service that are home to boxing stars like Canelo Alvarez, Anthony Joshua, and Gennady Golovkin, Bellator MMA, Major League Baseball highlight shows, and other major American sports leagues for international viewers.

MLW has been available in some international markets via DAZN in the past. The financies and the time of the deal has not been confirmed.

Going forward, MLW will be part of DAZN’s regular weekly schedule as well as on demand. Future live shows will also air on DAZN. They will still air weekly on BeIN Sports.

FAMILY UPDATE OF HEALTH OF DOMINIC DENUCCI

The family of wrestling legend Dominic DeNucci have released the following statement regarding online rumors about his health.

The statement reads;

Dominic was admitted to the hospital on Friday after experiencing some very minor health issues, including fatigue. After test concluded that DeNucci had slight stenosis of his aorta, the doctors decided to perform a routine heart catheterization to insert a stent into the narrowed artery. That procedure was successfully performed earlier [on Monday] and Domenic is resting comfortably. His daughter and son-in-law, Danielle & George Kassel, are with him and report that he is in great spirits and feeling much better.

They asked that their heartfelt thanks be extended to all of Dominic’s friends and fans around the world.
