Johnny Swinger on his 32 years in the business and the evolution of in-ring talent

I’ve seen a heights of wrestling there (in Impact) and in the mid to late 90s. And then the resurgence again, it’s basically the new talent coming along every year. And it just gets more exciting. And just the things that I see now in the ring could have never even been thought of way back in the mid early mid 90s. You know, so it’s just unbelievable. The athletes that have come into professional wrestling and the moves they make out there blows me away and I can see why we still have a huge audience.

Johnny Swinger on why he joined Impact Wrestling

“I chose to go there because they called and offered me an opportunity to be back on stage after several years of just being in the regionals and independents. I just saw an opportunity to get, you know, back on television with with the hottest group of talent going today. We got the best roster, male and female, that you’ll ever find there on our roster. And I was just honoured to be involved, throwing an extra ball that it’s just every time I go, it gets more exciting.”

Johnny Swinger on how much longer he plans to keep wrestling for

“I pretty much set out a plan and I followed it and nothing comes out perfectly but I plan for a for a long career and that’s where I’m at right now. And I stay dedicated over the years to always train my body, never took a break from that and I’m very fortunate to never have had a serious injury that put me on the shelf too long. I think that would be the main advice – take care of your bodies, that’s where it’s at.
