WILLIAM REGAL SET TO MAKE HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT TONIGHT
Serving as the General Manager or #WWENXT has been an incredible honor. To see the men and women of this brand over the last couple of months has been inspiring and invigorating.
Tonight’s major announcement will be yet another step forward for @WWENXT.

In a rather cryptic message posted earlier today NXT General Manager, William Regal, promised a massive announcement later this evening.
Rumours instantly started swirling about Regal’s departure. Although the message deliberately doesn’t mention what will be announced, there has been no indication that Regal is about to leave. Regal’s message was as follows:
Serving as the General Manager or #WWENXT has been an incredible honor. To see the men and women of this brand over the last couple of months has been inspiring and invigorating. Tonight’s major announcement will be yet another step forward for @WWENXT,
Regal was announced as NXT’s General Manager in July of 2014, and on April 13 of this year, he announced that he would also manage 205 Live following the announcement of Drake Maverick’s departure.
CONTRADICTING REPORTS REGARDING WWE’S STANDING WITH THE NETWORKS
A report broke yesterday which indicated that everything was going well with WWE regarding their low viewership and their partner networks. Apparently neither Vince himself or the USA Network or FOX were concerned. While all WWE products have been dealing with declining ratings, Vince and co’ believe this is due to the COVID pandemic and lack of fans. The assumption being that when restrictions were lifted, viewerships should start to increase.
Ringside News offer a different take. According to their sources, WWE is being put under a lot of pressure to deliver more viewers. Apparently both networks are very concerned about the low viewership, even more so since the NFL is set to restart soon, decreasing the viewership even further.
Maybe in response to the story, FOX issued a simple statement late yesterday, promising to continue airing historical WWE content during the Tuesday night slot that used to proceed WWE Backstage:
Tonight’s airing of SummerSlam will not be FS1’s final airing of a WWE in the Tuesday night timeslot, we will continue to have WWE content on FS1’s Tuesday nights through at least Tuesday, August 11.

Twitter user @Westlenomics has been at it again, digging through WWE’s financial reports once more. Earlier this evening, the account reported payouts to some WWE executives. It is important to remember that this comes during a time when WWE cut a large number of employees only two month’s ago. The payouts look as follows:
- Vince McMahon: $590,370
- Stephanie McMahon-Levesque: $516,585
- Triple H: $491,651
